Afternoon Moo,
sorry to hear that you have been on the receiving end of wrath again. Glad to hear there was an apology, but it would be better if some thought about your routines & tasks was considered.
Struggling with the platitudes here as that sort of sh!it is why I love being single. Cant imagine having to justify my decision over utilites proividers - whcih by the way you were absolutely right about .I suggest a bit of being less available for all his demands wouldnt go amiss.
Just enjoy the peace & quiet while you can :A

Thanks Lula! I don't do the girly touchy feely ooh there you go deary it'll all be better after a good old cry stuff either. Thats simply not me. I know I'm not the easiest person in the world to live with, I have far too many impulsive moments for my own god and as I keep being told I flirt without realising I'm doing it which doesn't help things either.
Being single would be nice but I'd miss the OH too much. On his off days though thats an entirely different ball game. Keep hoping its just the stress of his job and the completely clueless way his management change their minds. Job security is a serious issue and hes not overly impressed that I'm behaving as though hes already been made redundant. I need the security of knowing we can scrape by on my wage whilst he views it as a kick in the teeth that hes not needed. Can't seem to explain to him in a way that he understands that this is my "what if" scenario in practice.
Bouncing around like a fart in a colander. Have since found a very yummy sounding recipe for chickpea curry, am quite fancying that for dinner tomorrow instead.
PC seems to have settled down following 30 or so crashes in the last 24 hours. Its most annoying when you're attempting an Ugly Betty marathon to find the PC doesn't want to play ball. Fingers crossed the virus checky things has sorted that out.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -
Ooooh no, wasnt suggesting for one minute that you get rid of OH
. A man with a Landy could come in very handy for hauling back all those apples & blackberries from your foraging trips :rotfl:.
You're probably right about the stress & job uncertainty playing havoc with OH's temperament. I've been told that it does strange things to a mans ego & sense of maculinity to not be in charge of breadwinning any more. Not sure why I always manage to find those who have no such problems but that's another story , I was foul when worried about my job security a while back. Like you I always plan for the worst case scenario but am generally quite optimistic.
Righ, I really should go & get ready for this party I'm briefly appearing at. Now behave yourself, & no flirting with the pc now that it's got its strength back
Is it very wrong of me to be tad miffed at having to take a bottlee of wine to this do, but know I'll only get to have one or 2 glasses out of it ? Did contemplate taking the rather sickly one that's already open in the fridge ... but I do have some shame :rotfl:0 -
Not as wrong as taking a really big handbag so that you can take some of the nibbles home to feed your DDs ... oh no wait thats me that does that and its never quite that discrete. I did leave one venue carrying a pavlova on a silver serving platter. In my defense I was (a) rather inebriated (b) dared to do it (never too old to be conned by that one) and (c) as someone helpfully pointed out dressed like a waiter. Have tons of fun Lula.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500

9 items finally listed on E-bay. Left taking the photos too late in the day to do the rest, flash reflections render them useless. Still it'll give me something to do tomorrow or the day after that....
Have 5 portions of mexican influenced chilli to bung in the freezer and the smell of cheese and onion bread (with added multigrain and left over wholemeal) wafting through the house. Temperature has dropped significantly, had to resort to wearing hiking socks to keep my tootsies toastie. Suppose I'd better start bringing logs and wot not in to feed the fires. But not now because its cold and dark and I quite fancy a glass of plonk and a couple more episodes of Ugly Betty.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -
Happy Sunday morning peeps. I had the best night sleep in ages last nights. No nocturnal visits from children or animals and best of all no 4am alarm clocks repeatedly going off. To sleep in until 7:30am is unheard of. I actually feel human.
Plans for today are as mundane as ever. First its a NSD because we're not going anywhere outside of a 2 mile radius of the house (promised the DDs a bike ride), not even to the book sale in the next village although the temptation to go and donate the books that haven't sold on Green Metropolis is rather strong I fear know I would buy more books which I really don't need and the DDs would do the same. Chick peas are soaked and need to be boiled this morning before being slapped in the slow cooker. Kitchen is slowly getting cleaner and tidier, cupboards are marginally less cluttered but that mostly due to the palstic boxes migrating to the freezer which is now rather full. Assuming we use quite a lot of bread between now and friday we'll still manage to get the pig in there. Just.
Off to take lots more piccies of junk to stick on flea-bay whilst the desire to get rid of tat takes me. Aiming for £50 in sales after fees which probably equates to another 30 items assuming most won't sell and those that do will only go for 99p. Still better 99p in the bank than a pile of junk sitting in a corner gathering dust.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -
Tesco powerforce DIY AA batteries are useless. I didn't expect much for 99p but less than 50 shots in 2 continuous sessions lasting 5 minutes a time and the first 4 are dead as dodos. Still at least theres 10 in a pack. Avoid like the plague people of the internet.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500

Scuppered by E-bay. Turns out although listing PS and PC games is now free for 99p starts you have to list it as free postage meaning that you have to adjust the start price to take this into account or take a gamble that the item sells for 99p and you lose money getting shut of th stuff. Back in the box it goes until the next free listings day. Still at least the photos are done ready for whenever that is. At least I've slapped 17 items on there. Thats 16 more than I managed during the 10 day free listing period which I'm now kicking myself I didn't get my act in gear in time to use.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500

Chickpea curry smells rather good already. Basis of the sauce tastes scrummy too. Just waiting for the chickpeas to boil then I can mix it all up and slap it in the slowcooker.
Costs so far:
400g dried Chickpeas 50p soak then boil and add at end
8 value cooking onions 25p
1/2 a clove of garlic 10p
2 apples - free
Fry the above then add everything else and stir for 10 mins
2 tablespoons of dried coconut - free (turfed out by school last year as out of date)
3 teaspoons curry powder - free - I got a dozen jars in freshers week at uni. It is a wee bit outof date though
1 can tomatoes 35p - I'm extravagent and pay the extra 2p to have someone else chop them for me. A girls got to have little luxuries in life.
Handful of sultanas 20p (I've got big hands)
Total cost a whopping £1.40. I'm guessing I'll get 6+ large portions from it. Problem is I haven't got that many storage boxes left. Duh. Should have though of that first.
I will get dressed before lunchtime.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -
Chickpea curry update - its hot, its edible, it would be greatly improved with more sultanas and another couple of spoons of curry powder but as an initial foray into dried beans it wasn't bad, it was far more filling than I'd anticipated too. I'd go as far as to say I'm stuffed. Mission sucessful.
Went for a bike ride in the rain this afternoon then ventured over to visit a friend that I haven't seen in ages. Bit gobsmacked to find that her ex-OH had paid for their 15 year old to have her lip pierced. Nice to catch up though.
I get the impression the TV is on its last legs. Took an eternity for the picture to settle down, did make Cbeebies far more interesting for a bit though, a bit like watching telly in a funfare hall of mirrors. DDs will be most disappointed when that eventually dies as it will severly curtail their telly watching which is no bad thing.
Need to check the DDs have a full complement of uniform ready for tomorrow. They've already had baths ready for a super early night. Extended peace for me! Planning to enjoy it with the aid of a strawberry face pack in the hopes of achieving flawless skin. Anythings better than the current zit eruption - my bodys very unfair reaction to stress, as if I don't have enough other things on my mind. Time to give the monkeys their 20 minute warning to enable them to finish off whatever they're doing before they're dispatched to the Land of Nod.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500
