Financial faux pas and other disasterous decisions

S'Okay Lula. Tesco successfully avoided. OH arrived home unexpectedly. His flight had been delayed so he decided to grab a shower between finishing work and jetting off. Has arrived safely but phoned to say he can't remeber the pin no. for his corporate credit card. I can't find it either. Hes either going to need a flash of sudden inspiration or he'll have to stick it on one of his personal cards and claim the cash back off the company who have a fabulously complicated expenses policy. Hotel bill in euros. Convert this to pounds sterling. Very sensible. Now convert that to US dollars. Submit expenses claim which is then reconverted based on the US dollar amount and paid in pounds sterling. If the currency market fluctuates in between then you get more cash than you were expecting and if it goes the otherway you then need to file a correction claim. go figure.
Rather wishing I had gone to Mr Ts though as I quite fancy a glass of plonk once the brats have gone to bed. Will have to make do with coffee instead. I'm sure my liver will be eternally greatful.
Apple sauce does indeed sound very nice but I'm distinctly lacking in jars. Still there are plenty more apples on the trees.
Bread was a bit of a surprise. Its light, its fluffy and its rather tasty (although the DDs have pulled faces - more for me!). I'm in awe at my staggering talent. Mostly because I expected it to be a brown shrivelled bricklike lump thanks to out of date yeast. Fingers crossed I can repeat this again tomorrow with the dregs of the rremaining packets of bread mix. Will also need to dredge up a flour based bread recipe as I have lots of part packs of bread flour. The last recipe I tried was ghastly, like eating salt.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -
The rollercoaster takes a downhill plumment. OH has phoned me to yell at me. Great. Not even in the same country and I'm still in the wrong. Off to bed. Not that my day can actually get any worse but I'll be hiding under the duvet just in case.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500

Morning all. Feeling considerably happier than I was last night. Think I need to start to face up to the idea of moving on with my life. Hopefully OH will have calmed down by the time he gets back but I can't face him flying off the handle at every little thing he disagrees with. Its not even like it was anything huge. Or anything that even matters. Changing gas suppliers is clearly not all that easy when you live out in the sticks. To have cheaper gas we have to use more. Twice as much as we currently use which would also increase our monthly direct debit by £30. I think this is nuts. OH thinks I'm stupid for providing the company with the actual delivery figures rather than an estimated usage. Its not as if they'd take us on and then discover we don't meet their minimum usage terms and refuse to renew the contract after it expires in 2 years leaving us without a gas supplier. No company would do that would they. Really. Rant over. Can't change what I've done. Still don't think I'm in the wrong and I really didn't deserve a 5 minute earbending over it.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -
Todays another day. Its warm, dry and distinctly lacking in wind which should make for a pleasant morning at the stables whist the DDs have their riding lessons.
Plans for today extend as far as finding a recipe requiring dried beans and more importantly remembering to put them into soak overnight so that we can cook them for dinner tomorrow.
Didn't do anything constructive yesterday so will be getting my derriere in gear today so that I have something positive to show for my weekend. I will not slob around feeling sorry for myself. Its simply not worth it. Can't change who I am and more importantly I don't want to.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -

Thanks guys. Its just a blip. I've had both a phone call and an e-mail apologising. Admittedly the phone call came as I was walking out the door to take the DDs riding which makes me wonder if anything I do has any significance. I know hes away and theres a time difference but if he'd put any thought into it he'd have realised we were either en route to or on our way back from the stables. Maybe I'm just being overly sensitive. The important bit is he did apologise.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500

Gave in in the end and dragged the DDs round Tesco on our way back from the stables. I was very very restrained. Really I was. I still spent enough to keep Mr T.s profits very healthy but I took super mega advantage of lots of promotions and todays Daily mail vouchers which also gave me a newspaper to read and once I'm finished I can use it to bake the x-mas cakes. Forward planning! The downside is I blew £95.49. Thats after deducting £31.52 in multibuy discounts and £12.50 in freebie vouchers. Hopefully I now have enough laundry powder for the duration of this challenge. If I run out its because I do far far far too much washing. Other than allowing the DDs a single treat each and investing in 6 bottles of wine I didn't buy any tat at all. Incidently I didn't manage to buy any 4p curry sauce either. Aw well. I'll try again in a couple of weeks time. I'm hoping I can avoid Mr T for a while.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500

Have done a bit of surfing and come up with a recipe for mixed bean casserole so will be giving that a try for dinner tomorrow. Also found the ingredients for sausage rolls in the depths of the freezer which solves next weeks problem of variety in the DDs school lunchboxes. Still got to finish cramming the shopping in the cupboards. Theres rather more shopping than there is cupboard space. Hopefully I can just top up with milk and fresh fruit and veg for the next couple of weeks.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500
