I didn't even realise either!!! So, are you doing £4000 for the four months then?

I thought it was three so put myself down for £3,000. This will be the world's biggest challenge now.

Should motivate me to take my head out of my *rse and call around for insurance quotes etc though!

Fluffy bunny update - rabbit is still living under the gas tank. In fact it appears to be quite happy there. Fairly sure its mutilated visage is as a result of an old injury rather than the start of myxamatosis. Dog isn't too bothered. about it. Cat doesn't appear to be inclined to play with it. Turns out cat has a new game involving small live furry things and the shed which she can enter by means of a cat flap thus allowing her to catch small furry things, drop inside shed and then play chase with for hours on end until she gets bored and decides to eat them. OH had soo much fun playing hunt the rotten corpse.

Boss has given me a pet project. Think its more to keep me out of his hair than because I'm a very special person who deserves the responsibility of a project but there you have it. I get to revamp the slimy stagnent pool referred to as the school pond with no tools, no budget, no nothing in fact turning it into something with lovely clean water and considerably less smell. Still its an excuse to bumble about outside without anyone asking me daft questions. Stupid parent of the day award goes to the dad who discovered that children grow and popped into school at 8:30 to buy the kid a complete uniform. He wasn't overly impressed when he was told the next order would be November.

Other exciting things include me qualifying for a top secret product test for bog roll and a Lloyds TSB share statement which reveals my shares to be worth marginally more than the cost of the stamp used to tell me my shares are totally and utterly worthless.

I'm now totally convinced that the only way to suceed with the insane 4 month plan is toavoid supermarkets so as OH is off on a jolly and won't be here from Friday onwards I can get away with feeding the DDs all the sorts of things that OH would object to. According to the OS peeps the solution to the dilema is clearly to be found within a bag of lentil or a pack of porridge oats if not both. A quick cupboard raid reveals red lemntils, yellow split peas, chickpeas, cannelini beans, sunflower seeds, cous cous and arborio rice. Best of all they're almost all still in date. So if anyone has any vaguely tasty suggestions involving any or all of these items I'd be most happy to hear it otherwise I may well have to resort to a mixed bean casserole.

I may well at some stage be tempted to bore you all with a complete store cupboard inventory as I clearly have no life outside of MSE and nothing better to do with my time. It would be nice to open the doors to the cupboard without having to catch whatever decides to leap off the very over crammed shelves. It should be noted that this is mostly due to something in the region of 40 cans of cat and dog food. I have learnt to be more specific when writing a shopping list in the event OH decides to be helpful and misinterprets dog meat as purchase 24 cans of dog food rather than dog requires sliced meat for the purposes of taking liquid medicine. Clear as mud.

Second load of laundry done. Need to handwash DD2s dress sometime in the next month for wearing to the wedding. Today is not that day though. Washing up becons followed by a baking session so that the DDs don't whinge too much about their packed lunches.

Actually I do believe we need vodka or gin. I'm not particularly fussy. 4 months on 4K it is. Wonder how many of the relatives would like hand knitted dishcloths for christmas? I can just about manage that.

Bride to be is getting a Hama beaded Bride and Groom from DD2. Incidently have found an alternative use for Hama beads - cat litter. Perhaps DD2 will be more inclined to tidy up now. Probably not.

Apparently so. Wonder if I can persuade school to pay me overtime in food parcels?

    Christmas is now a concern!

I'm doing Bingport to try and get Amazon vouchers and shall buy someone something from Sainsbury's with the £10 voucher I got from them through Ipoints.

Luckily I bought loads of [strike]tat[/strike] in the Xmas sales so have all the aunties etc covered.

This is going to be tricky - no gin for you unless it's in the cupboard already :D

Frugal frugal frugal. One phone call later I'm collecting 1/2 a pig from the local garden centre on the 11th. They like to do things differently in Wales. Good news is its £1.10/lb. Hopefully that will placate the OH and keep him in meat until the end of the challenge.

Why the garden centre? Seems like an odd place to find half a pig, even if you are in Wales.

I need to remember to clear out my hall cupboard as the parentals promised me a freezer (To go with the one stuffed to the gunnels in the kitchen) My dad said he would fill said new freezer with mutton for the winter too. Methinks I have a weekend project :D

The garden centre hosts a farmers market once a month. Its much cheaper to pre-order in bulk and collect from the stallholders there than it is to turn up and buy on the day.

2 dozen large buns made. Kitchen is bordering on tidy. Planning to do a 30 minute blitz on the DDs rooms before returning to school.

Have been considering getting a cat ... the news that Hama beads double as litter has just swung it, we're off to RSPCA gala day at the weekend ;)
