Its only day three of the school holidays and I'm ready to kill already. The bundle of raging hormones that is DD1 is curently in ters in her bedroom having been sent there for slamming door prior to being told she can't spend all day vegged out on the sofa watching TV. DD2 is in tears because shes been asked to wrap Christmas presents for her older sibling which she'd like herself. When did they turn into such obnoxious little shoites?

PC is crashing at random which is really P-ing me orf. Is it too early in the day for neat and potent alcohol?

Meanwhile it turns out I now own somewhere in the region of 20 bottles of shower gel and almost as many handcreams and even more bottles of bubble bath. I don't recall buying so many but clearly I must have. Must pay more attention whilst wandering round the supermarket in a daze randomly lobbing things into the trolley in the hopes they will at some point come in handy.

My personal rule is that I'm a lush if I drink before noon, so you're fine to drink now

Happy chuffing cold Tuesday all! The stove has almost gone out and the house is slightly cooler than the inside of our fridge. DD2 is snuggled on the sofa wearing PJs a dressing gown and several layers of blankets. Hoping the coal I've put in the stove catches otherwise I'll have to empty it and start all over again and it will be at least another couple of hours before the place warms up by which time we'll have gone to school which will be equally cold as I turned the heating off when I left on Friday.

Hoping to get away with a couple of hours at school at most. Need to clear up the last few bits after Friday night, mop a floor, check none of the pipes in the outbuildings have frozen or roofs leaked, bung out the overflowing wheely bins and then we can venture forth to pick up OHs birthday pressie.

Still no news from Game regarding either a refund or the sending out of a new game. Think next year my cut off for internet orders will be the first week of December so that if things do go AWOL I at least have time to sort them out. I don't want to go out and buy a copy in the shops only to have them post out another one and not be able to refund either but neither do I want to have to go shopping on X-mas Eve as I'll be en route to the wrinklies and trying to do anything else that day will be insanely annoying.

Manged to do lots of cleaning and tidying yesterday. Another major blitz should see the place in the sort of state I'll be happy with. Keep coming across stuff I stuck in cupboards months back that needss to be wrapped and have an awful feeling that I should have got pressies for the three kids att he farm. May need to pick up selection boxes in the village Co-op at some point.

    Plans for today:
    • Go to work, fill at least an hour to justify the petrol used to get there, come home again.
    • Collect OHs birthday pressie and locate a suitable card
    • Pack for trip to the even more frozen north
    • Clean bathrooms again - the DDs removed makeup by smearing it all over the sink and the towels and the door handle
    • Vaguely consider joining FF on the official "live on 4K a year challenge" but then conclude that I am far too sober to do such insane things this early in the day
    • Check there is enough cash in my current account to cover all the DDs ovver x-mas. Seem to have got a bit carried away with debt overpayments again.
    • Investigate contents of cupboards to throw something together for dinner to go with last nights roast pork
    • Find something to occupy the DDs for the afternoon to save them driving me nuts. Persuaded them to make paperchains yesterday so the house is now looking rather festive although they did get a wee bit carried away and decorated everything from DD1s cello case to the dog.

Postie has been bringing with him a game. Whoo hoo. Unfortunately its the same game he brought last Monday from a shop which was not Game but who saw fit to send me two identical games from two different warehouses. Very generous of them but doesn't solve my dilema. Meanwhile I have recieved an e-mail from Game thanking me for my order (again) but this time stating the value of the goods as £0.00. I'm hoping this means theres a copy of the game that should have arrived last week winging its way to me as we speak.

Have obtained OHs birthday pressie so fingers crossed thats everything sorted. Just need to sit back and hope that the post office can work minor miracles and deliver the resent game from Game in time. Internet shopping is unbelievably stressful when it all goes pear shaped.

Have recieved another e-mail saying my game from Game has been dispatched. Fingers crossed it arrives in time. Continuing the good news Quidco have paid out an entire £1.52. I'm rich, rich I tell you.

Last time I shopped I was on an uber frugal kick and had a minor splurge. Not on the bottle of Tia Maria that I fancied but on the Mr T equivalent - Soiree. It looks the same, the labels the same, the bottles the same shape and there the similarities end. its like drinking liquid tiramisu. All I can taste is really really cheap coffee with a kick and its made worse by the addition of coke. Worst of all I have 3/4 of a litre to get through. Bleugh.
