I'm a nurse in the NHS. Hope I'm safe. Our hospital already has 60 nursing vacancies which they can't fill so have put all nursing staff on the bank. That means that they can pay us a lot less than we are actually entitled to under agenda for change. We're still doing the shifts though because we need the money.

So your gonna what - put the deceased in the back of the car? Roofbox maybe? Sling em over your shoulder and off to tree-hugger paradise with a shovel? What about preparing the body - you sure you wanna stick rags up the @rse of your loved one to stop em leaking?

DIY finerals will never go mainstream, peope are too squeamish:T

somehow I think that if you are identified the number of people wanting to use your services for their loved ones will decrease dramatically, due to your insensitivity.

  • He's right though. Dealing with dead bodies is a messy business. As a society we are far too removed from death for funeral directors to be at much risk from DIYers.

My SHO has taken all his MRCS exams but is having to do ST2 for the 3rd time this year as there are barely any SpR posts in colorectal surgery open at present apparently. It makes him a pretty miserable person to work with as he's frustrated all the time. Although saying that, he is still employed and earning. Must be very very frustrating and upsetting though.

'twas ever thus in surgery I'm afraid, 25 years ago the consultant interviews were SR reunions as they met up so often... oh and we used to get "time expired".....
Come and join us in primary care - more work availabe than I can fit in the week...... and at a good rate too
