What about organic new age funerals? Don't need some bloke in a limo then do you? Specially not one who's likely to be propositioning the widow before the body is cold.
So your gonna what - put the deceased in the back of the car? Roofbox maybe? Sling em over your shoulder and off to tree-hugger paradise with a shovel?
What about preparing the body - you sure you wanna stick rags up the @rse of your loved one to stop em leaking?
DIY finerals will never go mainstream, peope are too squeamish:T0 -

I reckon people could start having less lavish funerals e.g. hire less limos etc.. This could mean some funeral directors go out of business.
Safer jobs are the armed forces, police and bailiffs.
We (doctors) actually "benefit" from people having cremations instead of burials.
Every time someone who you have been looking after dies and you fill out the cremation form (authorisation to cremate the body and checking there is no pacemaker) you get a cheque for £71.0 -
