Got to buy a bottle of wine for my night out tonight but will keep it under the £4 mark. Then is a NSD weekend, which should be fine as working with Dad again tomorrow.

Amazingly I went out last night with my remaining £28.80 and came back (at 4am - I'm getting too old for that) with £25.10 left!!!

I need to pay £20 for a holiday inn room which a friend booked for June, so now I can afford to put £10 toward that this week.

Leaving me with £15.10 - which, depending on how my hangover goes, I may need to spend on goodies to make me feel better :D . And I'm craving chips now thanks to purpletea's post.

pointypenguin - I think I managed avoiding a full on cold. I felt a bit rubbish before I went out yesterday, but just getting out of the house and stopping feeling sorry for myself made me feel much better. Have a good time in london and try not to spend too much.

Well done on the free meal sazzledazzle.

Well done with the budgets everyone x
    Looking forward to the future.

I have £3.06 left. I know it's the end of the week, but it needs to last me till the end of tomorrow - which is achieveable. The only spend I've had since Saturday was £2 into the Loivbot fund when I had to get the car checked for my police producer! (*sigh!*)

Am working everyday next week, so can't see much extra spending... I'm going for another £15 next week.

Well done everyone. And thanks PP for keeping us motivated with this thread. :T

Yay - I've kept within the budget :j

Spent £ 3.67 on groceries on wednesday, spent £22.56 on groceries at T today, followed by another £6.35 on veg at the farm shop total spend £ 32.58 :D ( fortunately I dont have to include the other £ 18.30 on household & toiletry items  ).

Sadly I've gone over my £100 January grocery budget but it was a 5 week months so forgiving myself ;) .

Hope you have a lovely week end pointypenguin & please put me down for £30 for next weeks' challenge

    Hi all
well I still have my £10 haven't spent any of it. I bought some grocerys today but that comes out of my food budget. I haven't been anywhere near a shop all week as I,ve been at work. I have also been taking my own packed lunches and not bought mags or papers. This is a great challenge pointypenguin! It really keeps you on track and more aware of what you are buying. Please can you put me down for £25 next week as I have a night out and i'm not sure how much i will spend.
    thanks

Kept within budget despite two trips to the pub and one to the cinema. Spent £19.38, leaving 62p - I'm really happy because this has proved to me I can still have fun and not make too many sacrifices and not send loads of money - it just takes a bit of organisation and willpower.

    Happy happy dance:dance:

I'd like to pledge £20 again for next week please.

  • Total spend this week £10.45 :D (half of that was a bloody special delivery!!!)

Had another NSD today but I expect I'll spend tomorrow!!

I think I'll pledge £15 for next week! Thanks

I have a confession. I was well within budget, but then I spotted a coat in the dorothy perkins sale... you can see where I'm going with this.

Anyway. It came to £27.80 altogether (incl £4 delivery), which isn't bad. And I did get £11.20 in discounts.

Anyway, as obviously this would completely blow my budget, I have decided that I wont include this purchase in my budget. Is that breaking the rules??
    Looking forward to the future.

Lol Babs - the rules are what you decide to make them! If you think the coat shouldn't come out of your budget, then don't take it out of your budget!!! :) I've avoided all shops apart from grocery shopping for 3 weeks now - and my bank balance shows it!

I'm finding that I'm using this challenge money to mainly top up our grocery shopping. Infact, I've only spent £2 on 'extras' for myself, and that was sort of 'forced.'

I've also realised that I'm not being totally honest with myself, and that although for the past 2 weeks I've given myself £15 for personal spend, I'm actually only taking £10 of that a week out of the bank! But I'm still going to keep my pledge at £15... :D

Hi everyone - I'm afraid I'm starting with a mini rant...

I just found out that Orange kindly decided on Friday they would take £20.16 out of my bank account for my phone bill - and they've dated it for the 26th, which is monday (when payment was due). It has made me go overdrawn and I have had to take £1 out of my savings until I get paid on Friday to cover the shortfall of 16p (I intended to use next weeks budget to pay for it all). I hope they don't charge me for going overdrawn for a day or so because of this. (I've printed off my online balance with today's date on just incase there are any charges added or problems.) - sorry, that probably made no sense!

Anyway, back to the weekly budget...

Today I went to Sainsburys to cheer myself up (been feeling down for no reason) and bought a bottle or wine, snacks, newspapers and a few magazines - totalling £12.17  Did the trick though and I feel much better.

I'm still on budget too (only £27.07 spent), and I have ... (running off to count what's left in purse)... £2.93 left to go in my savings pot :D

Next week I'm declaring a budget of £20.16. Which has already been dedicated to the phone bill. I am adamant I will not spend anything else at all next week.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend
