I think the point of it all is most of us buy the odd extra thing at times to sell on to a friend/family/ebay or as 342 cos it works out cheaper but at the same time none of us have the nasty selfish bad attitude that has been experienced instore of physically abusing people in the way of pushing, shoving etc and also im quite sure that if we had 2 things and we only needed one and someone else needed/wanted one the majority of us are selfless enough to give it to them. At the same time we are not buying for huge personal financial gain like some of the people have been.
You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.

  • On the subject of selling stuff on eBay - I do admit to selling my No7 GWPs sometimes - for me this offsets some of the cost of buying the No7 stuff I bought to get the GWP, so at the end of the day I have spent less on what I wanted :)

I don't think anyone has a problem with people selling a few things on eBay to offset the cost of their purchases. I think the problem is with people buying the entire shelf of goods with the sole intent of re-selling.

Buffy - I don't think anyone begrudges anybody selling bits and pieces on ebay, it's the greedy people that go and buy up all the stock, sometimes clearing the shelves and then flooding ebay with stuff that others have not had the chance to buy one of that has got everyone upset;) and I don't think it is people on this thread doing it. These women were professionals by the sound of it! We know you aren't like that Buffy!!

I wouldn't sell any of my extras on ebay, i've given them all to friends and family free of charge! On the start day of the 75% sale I picked up extras especially for my mum and dad but I didn't go crazy like some that seem to have wiped the places out and are now trying to sell it for a higher price online!!! St Tropez set for £20 on ebay!

I was lucky to have a relatively hidden boots beside my work that I could get to easily, i'm so annoyed at the fact some of you couldn't get to the shops on that day/morning to pick up what you wanted and the website couldn't handle the pressure and cancelled your orders!! Its just not fair.

I don't know if they need to start taking orders by phone, make a queuing system on their website or only allow people to put 5 things in their basket at a time but something needs to be done!

    Sorry, rant now over! :D
  • Really sad to hear about the people buying 'tons' of stuff in the boots sale and being pushy in the shop. I know a few people on here had mentioned worrying that other people might be very 'pushy' in the sales. I was in Leeds centre around 9.15 am on Wednesday and was really pleased that no-one was being frantic or pushy at all. And most people were only buying one or two items. In fact, I felt excessive buying as much as I did and I only bought about 10 things (and only one of each item I wanted). People were being extremely civilised and I left the store with my two children feeling really pleased that it hadn't been a 'scrum' and had been a pleasant experience.

I agree - I was in 2 Boots early Wednesday morning, and while in both the sales section was busy, it wasn't a scrum, and everyone was polite enough. I did see a fair few women in the bigger store with those double baskets, full to the brim and overflowing, but then again, it did look like they were buying the bulky items, like the white vanity cases, and the big black No7 boxes. There didn't appear to be any shelf-sweeping going on though.

Received one of my orders this afternoon, was really dissapointed, the box was all crushed and dirty and taped up with brown tape to hold it together as the box al wet and soggy! (I was at home and thats how it was handed to me)

Anyway, one of the items a ted baker pink bag had been pierced by something sharp so had a cut mark and dirty marks and most of the other items boxes were really bent and damaged, they would have been no use al all to give as prezzies to other people.

Thanksfully was just things for my own kids who won't bother too much! Anyway I phoned customer services and they refunded me for the make up bag and let me keep it so can use the contents for a hamper and as a gesture of goodwill I got 1000 points!! :j

Wow I am truly amazed by CS!!! Can I ask did you have an argument on your hands or just explain the damage as you have on here?

I am honestly speechless. (But well done you for being compensated :j )
