Ok, starting from the end. Number 4..OP can't open an NPB as buyer merely has to enter their original paypal transaction number and the strike will be removed. Non payment means just that, it doesn't have anything to do with refunds.

Only if they know to do that  , trust me, I had something simialr before Xmas (paypal chargebacks iniatied), after a few buyer was NARU'd, I certainly filed my unpaid and I knwo one other seller did (cannot vouch for anyone else)

    3) Letting them chase it via paypal is not a bad idea, although do remember that this is recorded against the seller as well . Also, it looks like buyer has withdrawn a lot of their requests so there is the possibility now that only the OP and a couple of others will have chargebacks against them. - agreed, but I am sure there is a limit of chargebacks (cannot remember how many), also after a length of time paypal will get involved and start to refuse, this does not help this seller buy may help others)

    2) Try the police by all means, but make sure you have all the Amazon evidence to hand as well so they understand what exactly is happening.

I know of one seller on the ebay board that did report this, and it was followed up, (not the selling of the items), jsut the constant "non arrival" it was hard work to get someone interested, but paid off in the end

1),, I'm not sure I follow how this is anything but a disadvantage to the seller? Buyer has not defrauded Royal mail as he has made no claims to them, only the sellers can make the claim for loss. The only person being defrauded here is the seller so I'm not entirely sure what reporting this to RM achieves.

It is defrauding Royal Mail if all the sellers claim individually for non arrival (as they are entitlted to), Royal Mail track trends in loss mail, and sometimes need a shove in the right direction. They will check if lots of mail to one address is getting lost (just as they track if lots of mail from one delivery office goes astray),

As with all things it depends on the time and effort you want to put in, it might be worth writing it off, but sometimes you can' let the bad guy win.

I have reported to Royal Mail when I know someone was claiming non delivery of an item and I know they were fiddling (as it was an unusal item, hard to get that tehy did not want replacement only refund after 4 days in post). Did not help me, but might help others

I am absolutely appalled by this thread.

There are some right B******S in this world. This buyer is basically a crook, a thief, he is getting stuff without paying for it and then selling it on. He is exactly the same as some guy who breaks into your house, steals your T.V. and then flogs it down the pub, he is a scumbag.

What makes this all so bad is that ebay do not care.

I had a message back from ebay. They basically said that I need to communicate directly with him and offred to request his phone number!! They also said that they cannot look into it as they are just a platform for buyers and sellers to meet and rely on the trust of members. I pointed out that 6 people in the last week have been contacted by this member to say their item has not arrived - they don't seem to want to know!!

Just this morning someone else contacted me to ask if he'd done to me what he had to them....its obviously a scam yet ebay don't seem interested.

Ebay makes loads of money from sellers, they rely on sellers to make their profit which keeps them in business. They should at least try to make an effort when lots of sellers tell them there is a thief about.

I can sympathise with the sellers who do not want to make a fuss, getting a neg. feedback is seen as disastrous these days and if ebay does not help why bother to make a fuss. The whole thing stinks!!.

I still can't get over the whole experience. It makes you lose faith in people.
    1. The guy who claims items don't arrive then sells them on via Amazon. He even has the bare faced cheek to leave negative feedback and make claims through paypal if sellers are suspicious of him.

    2. Ebay not responding to over 20 individual complaints about the same person - he's still buying and seems to have been protected by ebay.

    3. But I think what's got to me even more over the past week is the other sellers. At first they were so angry at him pulling this scam - they made a group to discuss what to do (ebay made them take it down!) and were adament that they wanted to do something to ensure this guy couldn't carry on ripping off other people. But as soon as he contacted them to say their items had misteriously arrived and left them positive feedback, they go quiet. They still know he was pulling a scam and have blocked him on their accounts, but they don't want to take any responsibility to protect others. Talk of contacting the police, RM etc all forgotten. They don't even want to leave a comment on their feedback along the lines of "sorry item didn't arrive, glad we got it sorted" which would have highlighted the buyer to unsuspecting future sellers.

I'm just at a loss as to how to work people out sometimes.

Another update! Other sellers have set up a group - to see just how many people he's done this to. And its growing! They have also found his Amazon ID where he's selling these "lost in post" items! Am I allowed to post his ID? Its cowdean123 on ebay. He only buys Leon DVDs, monopoly sets and a few other bits and bobs. But they're the main 2 things he's after.

Hi, This is a useful link to see his bidding and buying activity. Here

If you cross reference it to sellers on Amazon you can easily identify him. His sales feedback seems to be going downhill also.

People like this should be automatically kicked from Ebay & Amazon.

Funny enough, i just happen to google his user ID an lo and behold, found this forum. Ive been the victim too, even when ive sent goods recorded delivery and found found them for sale else where. If you check his 'feedback left for others' you will see lots of this. Theres a poor German guy who has about 5 negatives for this. I looked up the DVDs that he sold and found him selling them on Play.com.

NOW!!! Take a look at his Play.com feedback! http://www.play.com/DVD/DVD/4-/3336262/-/PTSellerProfile.html?seller=12641449&listing=225806360

26%!!!!! Think this explains everything. This is the exact same user ID as he uses on Amazon.

    Hope this helps!
