Hi laineyc. Your moroccan lamb sounds nice. How do you make it?

Hi Kookgejke, I am in a rush right now but will post recipe later. I do it in the slow cooker.

  • Can I join in this week? I've never done a whole weeks meal plan before, although I regularly read this thread, and your meals always sound so much nicer than mine, but here goes. I've just planned for dinners, dd has lunch at school and dh takes packs, if anything I have leftovers, fruit or yogurt at lunchtime and we usually have porridge for brekkie, with a cooked plate on Sat or Sun.

    Mon: Stovies
    Tue: Chicken pie
Wed: Cauliflower cheese (Mr Be's guy style)
Thurs: Crispy cheese topped stovie bake
    Fri: Orzotto
Sat: Roasted cheese with bacon underneath or pie and beans
Sun: To celebrate Oor Rabbie's day -
    We'll be having;
    !!!!-a-Leekie Soup,
    Haggis, neeps, mashit tatties
    Cranachan cheesecake.

Well that's me done then. If anyone's judging our diet, we will be having veggies, I just don't know which ones yet.

    hi whats orzotto

Tuesday: Vine tomato tart with taleggio
I had this yesterday instead of Tuesday. It was an experiment out of an old foodie magazine. It was supersimple, absolutely scrummy and I just had to share it with you guys:

Preheat the oven to 220 degrees. Make sure you do this first because it took longer for the oven to warm up than for me to get everything else ready:p .Put some ready-rolled puff pastry on a baking sheet and score a line all around it about 1 inch from the edges. Tear up some basil leaves and put them in the centre. Put about 300 grams of cherry tomatoes (I used vine ones, make sure they are nice and sweet) on top. Cut 200 grams of taleggio into small cubes and scatter over the tomatoes. Brush some milk over the borders and put in the oven for 20 minutes. Put some more basil leaves over the top and eat while its hot. I was surprised how good it was and even though this is enough for 4, DH and me scoffed the whole lot down:o .

  • hi whats orzotto

It's basically a risotto, but you use barley instead, and you can add all the liquid at once.
