question about Tax credits ?????

  • How is helping ……

(you've got an awful lot of posts on here about trying to get max benefits for epilepsy and I wonder if this home "business" is a way of you trying to claim both WTC and IS as you certainly didn't care about WTC till I mentioned them in your last thread?)

What is wrong with starting a business?

The only reason she doesn’t get incapacity was because no one advised her from the start when she was eligible for it, is that not ducking and diving by the government with you standard.

I do not like the fact that I am trying to see what she is eligible for and you think it is ducking and diving.

Also how am I, when I want to come off benefits that probably amount to more than she will get?

Contriving your circumstances to claim benefits and that sounds just like what you're about to do.

I am going to get her Wtc and employ her where is the problem in that.

So what you are saying is I should discriminate her because she has a disability???

(I still think you should look at the implications of employing someone, you will need special insurance for starters and you'll also need to contribute to her NI premiums.)

Also can someone try and tell me where on my post it implicates me trying to find loop holes, from the start I said she gets Dla – Has epilepsy and will be working with me.

All these amount to the right to get WTC so where is the loophole????
  • This annoys me. You are using your partners epilepsy - you said "So what you are saying is I should discriminate her because she has a disability???

My fiance is epileptic and almost died last January after a series of seizures.

He has lost job after job in the first 3 months, as companies realise how hard it is to deal with epilepsy in the workplace. He even lost a job and we proved it was because of his epilepsy. We actually took them to court and won.
He now has a permanent job and I am so proud of him.

He wont let his epilepsy change his standard of life, despite his seizures and wont accept government handouts even though I have 3 daughters from my first marriage and we have one from our relationship. He doesnt earn loads but his pride makes him who he is .

From your post it really does sound you are out for what you can get.
  • Sorry that it sounded that way.

If she had been advised better she would have received incapacity for the start because she has been very ill from 16, because she was advised wrongly she was put onto income support.

I was told today that she should have got incapacity but they put her on income support.

I wish she could work because no one wants to be unemployed, bored and unindependent.

I just want to start my own business to further us so we can get are own house but by the time I am fished if she got nothing if I worked we would be further away then when we start.

Everyone want to be independent, but by working it would make us less independent because if we tried to get a house we would be bankrupt in a week so back onto benefits, 1 wage only goes so far.

1 wage only goes so far?

Well presumably if you open a business (in the middle of a recession!) you will make exactly the same amount if you didn't employ your other half than you would if you did? That's why i thought you were contriving because you wouldn't get any tax credits due to being under 25 but your girlfriend would.

At the end of the day if you fancy getting done for benefit fraud then on you go, have a read of some of the tax credit overpayment threads before you give it a shot because i'll tell you this, HMRC are merciless as demonstrated on the boards here.

Same advice (feel like a broken record now), get your GF to the jobcentre if you're so desperate to boost the household income.
  • I think you have gone to far now, for someone to come on here just wondeing what they are entitled to if my girlfriend came off income support and worked with me on my new business when I start it, to accusing them of benefit fraud.

Where the hell did I say anything about wanting to do benefit fraud, if all I wanted was some answers on a benefit forum you shore are some great help???

So are you saying that if my girlfriend is entiled to WTC to not claim them because it would be benfit fraud ????

well it started off as my girlfriend can't work what can she claim to i'm opening a business and going to employ my girlfriend who I recon should be on incapacity (i.e. is medically unable to work) so you tell me where i got the impression you were trying to fiddle the system.

Anyway i'm not contributing to this thread any more because the site specifically disallows advice on how to commit fraud and i think i've told you plenty of times now that the place to be if you want advice on disabilty benefits is the job centre.
  • It is obverse you like condemning people when they are sick and just trying to get the money they are entitled to.

I ask some questions, I am sorry if I may have worded them wrong but in no may was I implying I need help with benefit fraud.

I was unhappy that she should have been entitled to incapacity but because she never got the advice and was too late she couldn't get it now; I was just check out what she may have been entitled to.

You just came onto this thread to cause an argument and that is where we are now.

Sorry that you don’t have better judgment and that you prey on people looking for advice.

We will just have to agree to disagree.

Thank you to everyone that was construction.

You really have wasted a lot of people's time on here today.
  • So is she capable of work or not?
  • If I didn't need to respond to people jumping the gun accusing me of benefit fraud I wouldn't have.

At least some people have had there daily moan, but at my Expense.

All I wanted to know was what she was entiled to wish I had never bothered.
