Maybe it's just me but a few things are puzzling me!

Why would his colleagues get involved, and so long after? It makes more sense if you knew them as well, but still...?

Why have you come on here to ask for advice over something that would trigger most people into calling the police straight away? What did your mother say at the time? I know I'd have called the police if I felt my dd and gdd were at risk and I'd witnessed an incident.

It makes no sense whatsoever.

But anyway, in answer to your question; I'd have called the police. I would not contact my ex and I would not contact the employer unless the police refused to do anything.

I am absolutely baffled as to why his colleagues would be that bothered by something that happened solely within the relationship though. People have affairs all the time, so even if he'd told them that, I cannot believe for one minute it would provoke this type of response.

There is more to this, or he has said some very bad things about you!! And I mean very bad to provoke a reaction of this nature!! If I knew there was nothing I had done to get their backs up, I'd be wanting to know what they had been told personally!

It may be just me, like I said...

Please take the advice of everybody here and report it to the police. If these men are capable of doing something like this to you, they are capable of doing it to somebody else and possibly killing somebody next time. As you've got the registration number, they will be able to follow up. Also, they may try a similar stunt another time and if the police have already 'clocked' them, it could have potentially serious implications for them. And be sure to ask for a Crime Number, and to be jupdated of the follow-up action they have taken. And don't delay. Next time you might have your child with you on board.

Ok, I don't want to sound harsh, but I feel like I need to say this to you...

This incident is far more serious than just intimidating you. The fact of the matter is that from the sound of it they were driving recklessly, and without any thought for the safety of other road users. That is a police matter in itself.

Maybe they will switch their intimidation tactics to something not involving the works van next time. In which case the employer won't be able to do anything, and the police will probably wonder why you didn't report the first incident.

If your husband is the sort of 'man' who just ups and walks out on his wife and kid one day, I'm afraid I think you don't properly know what he's really like all that well, so you can't assume he hasn't put them up to this, and you can't assume that was an end to it.

I strongly urge you to report the matter to the police, so that they can at least log it.

I hope everything works out ok!

I'd report it to the police too. If it had nothing to do with your ex then it won't have any repercussions for him anyway so don't worry about the backlash. I'd report any car that did this to me, i pay an extortionate amount as a young driver for insurance and prats like this get away with driving dangerously all the time. Hope you're not too shaken.

Sorry OP but I think your desire to not rock the boat is bigger than your common sense tbh.

I hope for your sake this WAS a one off but if someone thinks it's a laugh to do this and they get away with it, then there's not much to deter them having another 'laugh' in future.

Oh and btw, a slapped wrist from the employer is still getting away with it in my book.

I really dont mean to upset you but I think you've not handled this very wisely. I hope the idiots involved dont come back for another go.

Magpie, are these idiots going to be more concerned about a telling off from their boss or being questioned by the police?
If the grief just comes from their boss I would say they may try and get back at you for endangering their jobs.
If you involve the police I very much doubt they would dare come near you. For goodness sake report it, before the police start to wonder what kept you from reporting it sooner!

I made a report to the police today. I know the names of 2 of the 3 and have the reg number. They have told me that they will visit the work place on Monday as I don't know the home addresses.

I actually don't live in the UK and where I am cctv is sparse so it wouldn't have been caught. However they have a copy of the complaint to the employer and are going to speak with my mum also.

I haven't taken this lightly, I'm sorry it sounded that way.
