Been looking for a notebook for about 6 months now. Thanks to voyager7 I got one of these today, excellent value for money. I understand the Asda offer is only for 1 week. Mine is 120GB but still excellent value in my mind. Asda Farnborough have 3 left blue colour @ £150, you need to ask at music counter as not on display.

Did a lot of thinking about this yesterday and read as much as I could about product before taking the plunge (well, got hubby to as no Asda near where we live but he was working in an other part of the country and popped into one there).

Anyway, something I never thought about checking (hence why I am posting to warn others about same) was would my ISP work with Linux. As far as I can see it doesn't, as I am with AOL. Does anyone know differently?

I've looked at possibly changing OS to XP, but don't think I am quite confident enough to attempt this, so am thinking of returning the Acer, which is a pity as I have been very impressed by the look, quality and feel of it.

It's really easy to install XP - give it a go. If you google, there's lots of instructions - you can't go wrong.

My eyes keep going 'googly' every time I look at the 'easy' instructions (and I have done so several times yesterday and today). Think my brain is turning to mush as I get older. Used to be quite good at dealing with computer issues.

Thank you so much Voyager7. I bought one of these at Comet last week so I went back today and quoted their price match promise. They refunded me £79!

It would appear that some have 160gb although marked on the box 120gb. Its pot luck apparently. In stock at Asda Hulme Manchester.

as it maybe random, is there anyway to figure out what capacity the hdd is from the exterior or using the serial number

or is it misprint on the box
