Bought this for my mum and am so pleased with it. Its brilliant. Has a built in web cam and will connect to wifi.

Also, amazon has a lovely little case for it that just opens with the netbook, means you don't have to unzip a bag - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Luxury-Leather-Premium-Aspire-version/dp/B001GRGU3M/ref=sr_1_12?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1232113593&sr=8-12

That's the PDair case. If you google for it, you'll find it for a bit less at other places.

Just rang my local store, who confirme they have one for £150, i asked the model they said its a ZG5, can anyone confirm if this is the one, or if its a lesser or superior model please.
    Thanks op :T

I think Asda only have one model of Acer Aspire One available, so chances are that it is the same.

Yep, just switched mine on and it's 160GB even though box says 120GB.

For those wanting to install XP the easy way. Assuming you have an XP install disk, if you have or can borrow an external CD or DVD drive, it'll go straight on - no cutting down or messing around required.

For those asking about games - it's not that good. I like strategy games though and Age of Empires 1 & 2 both work + Railroad Tycoon 3. Anything with the slightest amount of 3d graphics though is going to struggle. Again the problem will be loading them - An external CD/DVD is very useful!

About £30-40, unless you find one on ebay. I think there are ways and means of installing XP from a USB stick though, if you have one big enough? I found one guide here
  • Hi All,

just got one of these from Asda Chadderton nr Oldham for £150 and thats what there marked up at. The girl on the desk said they had loads of them in stock room. You have to ask for them cos there not on display.

I think there great I have a Asus eee and this is miles better and looks the dogs!!!

Works straight out the box and Im typing this now on my shiney new Acer aspire!
Im not a fan of Linux but this seems fine, I will though end up putting Xp on it.

    Thanks Op!:T
