    [STRIKE]Morning[/STRIKE] Afternoon

Haven't had much sleep but needed to come into work and prepare things for Monday morning as I'll be bored senseless having my glucose tolerance tests then :)

Didn't get chance to catch up on last night until now but (((hugs))) to snaggles and luc.

Beanie - I'm going to ?sp Auchterarder; apparently it's somewhere near gleneagles golf course but I've told Wayne I want to set off no later than 9am so I can take regular breaks (every hour and half) cos I reckon at 29-30 weeks I might need a few comfort breaks from driving.

I could really do with a drink!!!!

Big (infectious tummy bug) huggy hugs for all of you who had cr8ppy childhoods.
I too worried about having children after my childhood experiences Ames, but I tried VERY hard to concentrate on doing everything the opposite way that my parents did. I found I was also VERY protective with my son, when he was with others (worried about sexual abuse), and was (and still am) a bit OTT  . In other respects I have learned to relax with numbers 2-4!:D

while we are on the subject, things were hard for us too due to aforementioned father and his drink problem... no abuse as such but we were definitely the poor family in the street... and some of what i grew up with was in such stark contrast to that of my friends houses with lovely carpets in every room, and lovely things to eat and lovely sindy doll houses and the like....

i was the youngest of 5 and things were pretty dire, house was a mess (mum still is untidy) as am i by nature, but every dish gets done each day, and the more nice things i have in my home, the further i am from how i grew up... does that make sense?

maybe that's why i was so pleased with my new carpet earlier in the week!!

of course Big G grew up in a quite posh house, so he laughs at my deprived childhood!

  • It's funny isnt it? Families?
I grew up with a mother who I knew loved me to death but who, bless her, wasn't a very 'good mum'-she was always more my friend-which is great NOW but not so good growing up. I had to learn to be very independant and kind of brought myself up-my Dad was literally, crazy. I lost contact with him when I was 3 I think...my Mom had numerour boyfriends and was a typical hippie-free love, parties, hitch hiking across Canada with me on her back, taking me to Peace Rallys etc.

I loved my childhood and whilst I have some incredibly sad and horrific moments I wouldnt change it.

I'm starting to think that there's no such thing as a 'normal' or 'good' childhood, they all have ups and downs, good and bad points, just to differing degrees.
Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.
