awwww toto... even though she wasn't part of your recent life, she was part of yout history and being around her has probably made you the strong independent woman you so obviously are.
you still have the right to feel sad, and it might open up some shiitty memories... but it's all good cathartic stuff!
i had very mixed emotions when my dad died two years ago, so did my mum... i went to the main primary cremation thing, but then family had a ceremony down south and buried his ashes in family plot... everyone was shocked when i said i wasn't going...
do what's right for you...
i think your dad was quite sensitive really in writing to you, and he obviously knew what your choices would be and didn't expect you to go out of duty...
Families,huh!I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....(it's part of my charm!)0 -

Toto, the last sentence you just wrote was a credit to you and brought tears to my eyes. You could be so full of bitterness and hatred but you're not. You deserve every bit of the happiness you have now."I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250

I know what you mean too Toto. I've got family that I feel that way about, although not for reasons as good as yours.Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0

i agree.... not sure i could be so magnanimous if i went through what you have.....I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....(it's part of my charm!)0 -
Pap, I've just realised you asked about Ryan, and I was going to answer but got distracted and never finished typing my post lol.
He's coping well in general - he seems to accept the BIG changes better than little ones. He has been a bit unsettled at school but he has his autism outreach worker working with him again for a few weeks doing some anger-management type stuff. They have helped him loads in the past, so I'm hoping it will really help him.
He did have a very bad weekend and ripped his bedroom apart (still haven't quite finished tidying it), which was great fun to cope with alongside a relationship break up  (his meltdown started before the break-up, so it wasn't that that caused it). But other than that, he's been generally pretty good.

Toto,
Hunny, ((hugs))
Len-you're not a freak-you're a typical English family. Stiff upeer lip and all that-don't show emotions, sweep it under the carpet...I married into family exactly the same.Empty pockets never held anyone back, only empty heads and empty hearts can do that -Peale0 -
Toto Snags Luc and anyone else who needs one - BIG hugs. I'm trying to deal with some family crap at the mo too :-(Nothing is so fatiguing as the eternal hanging on of an uncompleted task. William James0

Thanks IA. I am the owner so will maybe try. Do I have to go to my local one? Small town and office in a very public place.0
