bluemeanie - i am so sorry to hear, you have been very unlucky with your venues :( where are you and can any of us help with suggestions?
  • cheers Violetta and Steph ((hugs)) I live in St Helens and up to now all the venues are booked :( I am having to look out of town now :( hopefully a place near Warrington might be available - i'm going up there tonight so please cross every body part possible for us xx

yes this is the second time the venue we were supposed to be in as closed down on us AND never even bothered to call us too :( luckily the room was free and we were only supposed to pay the DJ and caterer seperatley a few days before :( only thing now is finding a DJ (well once we find a new venue) and hopefully the caterer will go to our new venue. I cant wait for 2nd August when its all over :(

oh I am really sorry to hear :( I wish I knew the area or at least knew someone who did. That is really crappy of both of these places to do this without telling you. Not ideal but are there any bars or anything with big function rooms that you could borrow? They might have their own DJ. Or worst case scenario, are you able to change your date without being impacted financially? That way, you might find something if you can be more flexible. I know its a horrible thing to have happened, no-one deserves this :(

Have you tried any of the late availability wedding sites:
    http://www.hitched.co.uk/wedding-venues/availability/
    http://www.wedding-venues.co.uk/offers.asp
    http://www.forbetterforworse.co.uk/offers.htm

Good luck bluemeanie999...what a horrible thing to happen. Maybe this is just meant to be, and you'll end up having a wonderful day at somewhere more amazing, cheaper and even better than you first found. Fingers crossed for you xx

Hey bluemeanie, how are you doing? How did you get on at the other venue? Is it just for the reception, please tell me you still have somewhere to get married:eek:. Hopefully everything will be fine & you won't need any advice but just incase, maybe ring around the places that were booked previously, or as stephk said try other types of venues, anywhere with a function room, or even just taking over a whole restaurant or pub or football ground if its a big do. I know it's bloomin awful but hey as long as you are marrying the right man it won't matter if it's in a muddy field, lots of hugs honey :grouphug:

Sammy-girl how did the hair trial go? we need to know. (shocking hair smiley???)
    Booo!!!
