Hi girls, back from my hen night- was quite tame (exactly what I wanted!)0
-
Glad you had a good hen night!
Mine is next week and after the stag do this weekend Ive decided Im having 2 nights!!! lol. Friday night is drinking and clubbing with a few friends with a Moulin Rouge theme (corsets etc) and then Sat night is a meal at a greek restaurant with belly dancing, greek dancing and plate smashing. Got OHs sisters and that coming to that one so prob wont be going to my normal club.
Now that the stag do is over Im so pleased to have my house back to myself with no smelly boys left.
Cant believe its less than 3 weeks for me now, Come round so fast. I only have a few more things left to sort but loads of little niggly things0 -
Hi ladies, crikey I've been missing out on all the action  No one tells us about all of this drama in the run up to the wedding lol.
Well it's officially less than a week to go for you 1st August ladies :j
I have sooooooooooooooooooo much to do that it would just be too depressing to list here. I've had MIL2B round all afternoon complaining about my garden and how its in no fit state to be taking pre-wedding photos in. At least she got out her tools and made a start on it. I only have 2 weekends left before the big day. One weekend my brother is staying, and the other my friend from the States. So I am literally running out of time.
Got my passport yesterday :j I'd left it too late to use POs check and send service so went to the passport office in London at 10:15 and by 14:30 had my nice new shiny passport with my married name. It's so weird. Was so excited to show H2B when I got home and all he had to say was that my photo looks like I'm chewing a wasp
I was planning to do loads of wedding stuff last week. Had the most stressful week at work whereby everything I did was not good enough for my boss. Ended up having a barney with him on Thursday and nearly walked out. He then sent me a very apologetic email - saying how hard I was working and he was proud of me blah blah blah. Pah. Anyway, to top it off we had a power cut at home from Monday lunchtime to Thursday morning  For 3 nights, no tv, no internet, no cooking, no hoovering. Just me and the dog sitting in the dark. Lucky H2B at least got to go to work . Needless to say no planning done last week.
Went to church today and got hounded by the administrator as she wants my order of service.....as of last week. Crikey, I haven't even chosen my second reading yet.
Blimey, I need to stop typing. I can feel a burning knot building up inside.
Just think ladies, we're nearly there and we've all got lovely honeymoons to look forward to :T0 -
Glad your hen night went well aimee, and I hope yours is fun Val. Wish I could do mine as well.
Also, good point to check your travel insurers about swine flu. Emailed mine as it would just be my luck that I catch it and can't go anywhere0 -
Well what a weekend. As I said I got photos of my test dress, but the train is massive, they made it 77inches from the waist, as I'm only 5.3 & getting married in a wee hotel not St Pauls cathedral I asked them to take 30 inches off it, on Saturday they emailed me back that this was fine.
My dad went shopping Sat morning with my oh to help him pick a suit, they were back within an hour, suit all sorted, & the ties & shirt, ( the shirt he picked is called a lavender colour, which is also what I'd picked for my dress but he didn't know that!). So we all went out for a lovely lunch my dd really enjoyed it.
Got home then later in the afternoon got a phone call bloke saying he was Jason from Sky asking how my sky box was, I said it's fine & hung up ( we don't have sky but I wasn't rude) the phone rang again still showing an unidentified number so I just let it go to answerphone, well he lift a really sinister voiced message saying "bi+ch pick up the phone bi+ch"
About 2 in the morning I heard shouting outside looked out saw a lad arguing with some girls then he picked up a traffic cone & bashed our car with it:eek: he's smashed the back passenger window and bashed the bodywork. So after the police had been & we patched up the window it was gone 4 by the time I got to sleep. They think they will catch the bloke they knew who he was from my description, but that's a £250 excess we could do without spending at the moment.Booo!!!0 -
Split it over 2 posts as my moan is sooo long!
This morning I emailed Milly re my concerns that the material for my dress is out of stock & when will it be in stock? Got an email back saying when I tell them how long I want the train they will order the material straight away:eek: So emailed them straight back saying as I had already said could they take 30 inches off and that I need the dress here by the 7th August at the latest, that only gives me 2 weeks so is really cutting it fine anyway. No idea how long it will take to get the material in stock or how long it will take to make once they start it but I will believe the dress will be here in time when I open the parcel.
So glad I bought the backup dress as I'm sure I'd be going mental just now. It's not THE dress but it's still nice & suitable for me & our wedding even if it's not a typical wedding dress. Will just have a panic finding something for my wee girl. Big Sigh here!!!!Booo!!!0 -
I think you should make a complaint to Sky about Jason - how dare he leave a voicemail like that!! Thats if you have time to do it amongst everything else.....
....with something like 11 days to go, its going very fast and its going to be very busy methinks....0 -
Thanks Steph, not 100% sure he really was from Sky , as they would know we aren't with them, but oh has emailed them anyway. I know it's nothing in the grand scheme of things ( hear much worse on tv every night) but it's just unsettling.Booo!!!0

I have just re-read and I misunderstood - sorry about that, yes that does sound even worse. Someone must be calling random numbers and then going to peoples houses. I am so glad I dont have a landline! I hope no-one gets taken in by that creep.0

Blimey Violetta, what a weekend!
What a nasty phone call. I had a phone call on the landline last Sunday from a guy who said that my bt bill was overdue and if I didnt pay it there and then, then he was going to cut my phone off. Now for one thing I have my phone and my line rental with Sky. I dont have anything to do with BT. Plus I know that the bill was paid this month. So I asked the guy where was he calling from and he said BT. I said funny that, considering I don't have an account with BT, and then he said well who do you have it with?! I said I'm not going to tell you that, you idiot. So he kept saying that he was going to cut it off etc and I was like ok love you do that! Scum like that could get to unsuspecting people who may give their card details out. It was a hidden number too. And then the next day we had a power cut and OH was convinced it was this guy on the phone lol.
Anyway, don't panic about it Violetta. I hope everything goes well with the dress - they are cutting it rather fine. You'll have to post some piccies when u get the dress0
