Literary cat names

I am registering my litters of kittens and want a literary theme possibly children's books. I have Huckleberry Finn, Just William possibly Pollyanna . I thought also of Paddington Bear, does anyone else know any famous bears? I need 11 names for 3 girls and 8 boys anyone got any ideas - what was your favourite book as a child, perhaps? Thanks folks I am stuck!!

Brumas was the first baby polar bear born in the UK after WW2 - there was lots of polar bear stuff for children - toys, books, soap (!)around then celebrating his birth.

Knut was the baby polar bear born in Berlin zoo a couple of years ago who's mother abandoned him and he was hand reared by his keeper.

There might be a list of bears and their names on the London Zoo site - could you get some inspiration from there ?

Baloo - Jungle Book (though not sure that he was actually in the book!)

Rupert and Pooky (Garfield) if you extend "literary" to include strip cartoons :)

    Some more ideas here http://www.life4rent.co.uk/Fun%20Stuff/BEARS.HTM

    Lead us not into temptation...

just tell us where it is and we'll find it....
  • Favourite children's books: Black Beauty and Heidi.
Famous(ish) bears: Yogi and Boo Boo, and Chi Chi.
We could all learn a little something from the weather. It pays no attention to criticism.

I would be sooo tempted to call them after Beatrix Potter characters, then they are all related ... *L*
