    I'm back. Can't stop crying:o

Stupid really - I had already acknowledged ages ago they could probably make my position redundant but I just feel so, well, rejected:o
I don't really know what to say sweetheart, but (((((((((hugs)))))))))).

Have a good cry about it, it will make you feel better. It might turn out to be perfect timing, and it definitely wont be a disaster. Things happen for a reason (go with me here because this is what I'm clinging on to at the moment), and that reason might not be clear just yet, but one day you will see it. xxx

    thanks everyone

my lovely wee kitten has just climbed into my arms and is purrring like a nutter. he never usually lingers for a hug so i guess he can sense i'm upset. sniffle:o

According to the BERR reckoner my redundancy entitlement is a whopping £660. Doesn't even cover 1 month mortgage...

  • Oh Snags :grouphug: I am so sorry you're hurting but you are doing the right thing in that you are not letting him walk all over you - it might not feel nice right now but this is better than a long bad run of things... it shouldn't be this hard whatever the circumstances xxx

Luc - I will keep my fingers crossed for you. It would be very hard for any employer to prove that the redundancy was not influenced by your pregnancy and I hope that goes in your favour. I know you are keen to return to work but is a career break even a possibility? I change my mind about this myself every day

Thanks DD. If it were just me the pregnancy thing might have held them off until after maternity leave, but as there are 2 of us up for the same role and we're being scored on the same criteria as the other 8 positions I think I'd be lucky. Besides, I don't want to be kept on a technicality - I've been through similar before and the politics of being in that position is utterly soul destroying. Financially, not going back to work is not an option intil our loans are paid off...

Oh Luc :grouphug: I know you'd mentioned the possibility before but it still must be horrible.

Snags, you stay strong there ;)

Bit fed up this evening, work has been sh*t, my lovely new bloke has man flu, and ex is being difficult

Can I join the fed up lot please? :(

  • Yes I see your point about being kept on because of a technicality. Part of my problem with my job is knowing that actually, they were lumbered with me. My boss tries to put a positive spin on it but the fact remains that I did not compete for this job, excel in an interview, or win over a panel. I did all of that for my old job and felt good about it. Now I am just a reject!

Is there room for another one in the fed up club :D

I too have work problems, but in my case I'm the boss and I'm not sure how much I can trust one of my staff
