  • Yes I can see what you mean. Good Luck with the GP and I hope you manage to let your hair down with your mate tomorrow. I've got to go to bed now as I'm on breakfast duty tomorrow with my 5 year old. I look forward to speaking with you tomorrow.

Hope it goes well today. Please let us know how you get on at the doctors. Really hope your GP is on the ball and offers some help.

Just catching up with all the posts from after I logged off yesterday....
As CarefulwiththatAxe said your not horrible just going through a horrible time. I'm pretty sure you would support us if we need it. Good luck for tomorrow.
CG I can honestly say you've been very supportive to me when I've been going through a carp period or three. You're not horrible at all; your illness is doing horrible things to you at the mo, but you are a good person, with friends who care. Just because we're behind a computer screen, and can't always be online, we still care.
crazy_girl, you shouldn't keep it to yourself. If you do that no one will know how much you're suffering. Telling people gives them the opportunity to help.
Absolutely right. You'll have been to the docs now, I imagine (sorry, I can't get online as early as 09:00) so I hope it went well, and that the doc now knows the whole situation.
    ((((HUG)))) for you.

what a lovely idea, I suffer from depression but have found medication does little or no good I had a wonderful psychiatrist and she helped me far more than any meds that actually made me feel worse than better, even the side effects on the meds states that they can cause the very symptoms that I was suffering from.

I now work on the basis of a diary with goals which are broken down into daily, weekly, monthly, yearly and life goals with a 5 year plan. Everything is achievable rather than pie in the sky that I know I could or would never do and I tick them off as I do I add new ones. The daily goals are pretty static and create a routine from getting up in the morning, to making a smile in the mirror and doing chores with one goal that is specific to doing something outside be it go for a walk to the shops or to visit a friend (or the local library which always has something going on loneliness being a huge contributing factor to my form of depression), the weekly ones include some housework etc included are things to avoid like any drinking drugs etc and if you have those problems you have to go and get professional help at the end of the day no one but you can really help you have to want to give up also included are educational goals (I've been to uni via an access course which anyone can do no matter what your age and if your on benefits they cost nothing some you can be paid extra for) the courses really help with regaining your self esteem as well as giving you up to date and relevant educational skills and finally personal goals mine were to learn to shoot because I've been shot in the head its taken me 6 years and a couple of rather random courses to actually get there but I now shoot regularly and in the process am a qualified gamekeeper with a few years experience under my belt and work my dogs which I love doing and helps towards a more relaxed lifestyle.

I have my bad days and those are fine too but I have more good days than I did on the meds and without the plans in place. I don't think I could have done it alone though so its really worth getting help and if you don't feel up to chasing it get help from one of the mental health charities.

I did try keeping a blog of my moods but i find it hard to be truthful and to keep it up. Hopefully this will change, got an appointment in jan with someone from the CMHT who says she's going to help me set some goals, get back some routine which will help in the long run.

Starting new meds today...by day 4 wil be rattling-have to take 6 of the bleeding things  Might have to get myself a pill box so i don't forget.

Not as stressed as i thought i would be. Think being home has given me a bit of a break (and my bf a break from me!) and having people around is stopping me from sinking too deeply down as i have done before. Its nice to be here in the run up to Christmas (and i have the music channels with xmas songs on). I know this time of year can be really difficult but i want to you all to know you're in my thoughts.

MU a pill box is a very good idea; I have a lovely silver one with a green jewelled butterfly on that Mr LW bought for me at a craft fair. I always put my evening meds in it so that I can grab it and put it in my handbag if we're going out.

I have to take 9 tablets in the mornings and 7 in the evenings, and Mr LW takes just 3 in the mornings.

I always set out the next days' tablets as part of our bedtime routine - the ones for the morning are put in two shot glasses (one each) on the breakfast table, and my evening ones in the box, as I said.

    Lovely pic, btw.:o

    Ok..now i am annoyed

Asked mum if it was alright to have a bath (have one once a week when i'm at mine-its my me time and helps me relax) and she said NO, because its a big bath and it would use up too much hot water. Why the hell did you get such a bloody big bath in the first place???!! Its useless and pointless if i'm not even allowed to use it for its intended purpose. godammnit my parents astound me sometimes

Has anyone heard from crazy_girl? I'm hoping that the no news is good news at this point and her GP is giving her the help she deserves.
