My neighbour had taken in my mum's birthday present for me when I got home. So at least my mum is almost sorted. Just need to get her 1 other thing to go with it. I asked my sister about those books and she thinks that my mum has already read them. Will have to think of something else now.

I can't concentrate on anything tonight. I've given up trying to do any questons on AQA as I'm afraid my answers will be rubbish. All I keep thinking about is the dentist. I'm petrified!! I've got this disgusting mouthwash that I have been using for the past couple of days to see if it helps my gums. It numbs the mouth a bit so will have some of that before I go to ease the pain of all the prodding and scraping!!

I think that all dentists should be fit young men, that way I don't think I would mind so much. I would be more interested in looking at the dentist than what he was doing :rotfl: . I had an IV line fitted once by a gorgeous young trainee doctor. Even though it took him 4 attempts to get the line in, I was just enjoying looking at him for over an hour!!

Well, back from the dentist. She was a very nice lady (would have preferred a fit man though!). She said that the tooth wasn't loose but the gums were irritated and I needed to see the hygienist for a clean and polish.

I went to book it and the receptionist said 'that will be £16.20 for the check-up and £45 for the hygienist'. Excuse me???? £45 flipping quid and I have to pay upfront?????? 'I'll book it later thanks!!'. Does she not understand that some people still have 4 days to go until payday and can't even afford to buy food let alone pay out £45 to see some sadist with a scraper and mirror!!

Got a massive pile of work to do and am the only one in today (and Monday for that matter) so should really get on and do it but would rather stay on here for a bit!! Might alternate it - a bit of work, 5 minutes on the laptop, bit of work etc.

Right, bit of work time. Then back on here at 10.45. Good plan!!

  • Try using that corsodyl (sp?) mouthwash as thats what they recommend anyways. i have used it when my gums became irritated when i was pregnant and worked wonders. you just have to use it about 10-15 mins after you have brushed your teeth......................

Thanks, I have been using that as was recommended it before. She said that won't help because I have a build up of plaque which is irritating my gums so need to get this removed. I hate that Corsodyl stuff. That was the disgusting mouthwash I used before I went. It does give a nice numbing effect but makes everything taste foul for the rest of the day! :p

Did you use the mint one and was it any better?
  • Um, not sure now, thinking of trying the daily one. I have always used half mouthwash and half water as it still numbs it nicely but doesnt leave the carp taste in your mouth!!

Thanks, might try mixing it with water then. I might try the daily one too, after I have seen the sadist though.

Oh, my boss wants a word with me about my hours later on. I think this could be the cutting back down to 4 days time for me. The extra money was nice whilst it lasted. Will wait and see.

I've already got a mystery shop lined up for Wednesday next week in anticipation of having my extra day taken away. Might have to cancel it if it's good news.
  • Fingers crossed for good news Emily :D
