If you are doing a couple of car boots, you could look for some shoes while you were there.
Regarding lunch for work, if you have some pasta in the cupboards, you could do some tuna pasta salads for work, or if you have a microwave at work, you could try something like savoury rice. I think you can get value packs of savoury rice that are dirt cheap, add water, bung in microwave for 10 minutes and hey presto!Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no. 607 - Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts :T

Hi everyone
My new thrifty lifestyle starts today!! I've had to put £10 of petrol in my car (with Nectar points of course). I've got around £11.50 in my purse (not including shrapnel) which has to pay for my cinema ticket (and half of my mums) tomorrow but I am really hoping that my sister will offer to pay for it all as she knows how skint I am all the time so fingers crossed!!
I've seen some Easter eggs in Morrisons for 98p each so will get 1 of those for my sister. Not sure if I am going to buy my BIL one. Will see what my mum is doing. I need to get some wrapping paper to wrap up my niece's easter present (a little tea set) but may use some I already have if possible as she won't know the difference!!
For my food, I'm going to start going into my local supermarket just before it closes every day so see what I can pick up cheaply. I now long for the days that my mum worked in a supermarket and used to come home with a carrier bag full of packets of crisps for 50p!! She used to get loads of bargains.
Thanks to skysky69 for the tip of looking for shoes at a car boot. I was going to look around the charity shops and places like Primark. If I can find some for a couple of quid then I will be happy.
Going to do some questions on AQA for a few hours.

Morning everyone
My last day off work, back tomorrow.
We didn't take my mum to the cinema after all as there was a massive queue to get into the complex so we would have missed the start of the film (they were letting mums go up the Spinnaker Tower for free). So we took her to Tesco instead!! We know how to show our mum a good time :rotfl: .
So I only spent a fiver yesterday instead of the £12 I was expecting. Unfortunately I've got the dentist on Friday so that will be £16.20 (I think) out of my pocket. I am such a scaredy cat when it comes to the dentist. I absolutely hate it and haven't been for just over a year so really need to go as I don't want to risk getting booted off their list.
I'm due to pick up my Avon books this evening (well, going to see if any are out this morning/afternoon). I'm looking forward to seeing how many orders I have. Hopefully I will be able to put some of the money towards my car.
I was thinking of ringing the car place and saying that I'm being taken away for my birthday so can't pick the car up until the end of the month. I would have the money then to pay for it. Might be worth a try me thinks.
I'm going to go to the supermarket before it shuts tonight to see if I can get some cheap bread for my sarnies tomorrow.
I got enough on Ebay last night for my mum's birthday present. Just waiting for a couple of payments to come through before I can get it  .
Have a good day everyone

Hey
I have been reading your thread and am amazed at how you always have the determination to get everything organised and your always coming up with new ideas and a plan to get everything done you need to do.
Hope you get some good avon orders

Hi everyone
Well today was a no spend day and I only spent £1.90 yesterday too. And that was 98p on an Easter egg for my sister (have decided against getting my BIL one) and 92p on an essential ladies item!!
My Avon orders went ok, I've got £201.80 worth of customer orders which is pretty good. However, once I've taken off all the books, admin fee and the things that I have purchased, I won't have much commission left (probably about a tenner!!). I expect to do better next time as I won't have an admin fee and am buying 3 campaigns worth of books this time so won't need to buy as many next time.
I don't think I am going to do a carboot either as I haven't got much stuff and haven't seen any 'carboot' ads on Freecycle either. I think the only way of sorting my car out is to say that I am going away and ask if I can collect it at the end of the month.
My friend at work as lent me her collection of Shopaholic books, they are brilliant and at one point I was considering buying them so she has saved me some money!! It's difficult to concentrate on my questions now though as I just can't put the book down!!
I've ordered my mum's birthday present from Ebay. My sister said that she would give me half (£30). I only need to get her a little pressie to go with it now but that won't cost much.
I will be spending a bit of money tomorrow. I've got to get some wrapping paper for my niece's Easter present and my mum gave me a Boots £5 voucher for No7 make-up so I was going to get the cheapest item I could and hopefully sell it on Ebay for some profit.
Anyway, better get on. Want to finish some more questions and then sit in bed to read for an hour or so.

I know, I've been dying to see that and we were going to take my mum on Sunday but couldn't get into the flipping cinema. Will probably have to wait until it's on DVD now  .

I have only spent £1.45 today so far but will need to buy some bread later for my lunch tomorrow and might have to get some petrol too so probably looking at £7 in total. I've only got £32 and that has to last until Tuesday next week. I've got the dentist on Friday (£16), I've only got 30 miles in my tank and 82p credit on my mobile - things are looking bleak.
I spent the £1.45 on some wrapping paper for 35p (used up all my loose change) and a No7 nail varnish for £1.10 (used the £5 voucher). I was going to sell it on Ebay but think I will save it for part of my sister's birthday present. Hopefully can get some more vouchers before then to add to it.
I've seen some books in the book club thing at work that I think my mum would like and could get them for her birthday. They are only £5 for 3 books and that would be all I would buy her. The problem is that they take it on Monday and I am on a very tight budget until Tuesday. Might see if I can borrow a fiver from petty cash.
Damn, also forgot that I've got 2 Ebay items to post  . How on earth am I going to afford that??? I can't postpone the dentist again and need petrol and food.
I'm going to have to push my sister for the £30 for my mum's present but really hate doing that, especially as I have only just paid her back £250.

Break it down into little steps.
