New plan for 2009

I have decided that I really don't want to go into my 30's in debt.
I am 30 in April 2011 and my estimated DFD is July 2014 so I need to cut just over 3 years off it  . My debt is just under £35k
I'm working hard at the moment to get my hours at work put permanently up to full-time. I am currently working an extra day a week and claiming the hours as extra every month so I am not always guaranteed full-time wages at the moment (ie if I am off sick on Wednesdays I don't get paid) so when I get this agreed, I will be able to put my DMP payment up to £700 a month which will give me a DFD of April 2013.
So my plan is:
Wish me luck!!

So my plan is:
- Up my hours to full-time ASAP so that I can up my DMP payment to £700.
- Earn at least £550 a month from AQA so that I can use that to pay my rent.
- Use my wages to pay my DMP payment and all my other bills, food etc.
- Get as many mystery shops as possible so that I can cut down on my other expenses because of the freebies and put my mystery shopping fees into a savings account.
- Throw myself back into entering competitions as I used to win loads. Also, I might just win enough to pay all my debts off
. Anything I win and don't want I could sell and put the money in a savings account.
- Do as many extra things as possible to help with living expenses, presents etc (surveys, trials, freebies etc) so that I can put as much as possible into my savings account.
Wish me luck!!

Hi there,
Just read your plans for 2009. Seems we are in similar boats, i'm on a dmp with payplan with debts in excess of £50K and want to find ways to pay off a lump sum at the end of this year to get things back to normal.
Like you i'm doing comps, sending off for freebies, doing as much overtime as possible, also signed up to cashback sites, have also sent off to eager learner for daily clicks info. Started that but easing myself into it as it's time consuming.
I wish you lots of luck in your efforts, will be popping in to catch up and see how you are getting on. Take care xxNo spend days for March = 3Money to joint savings 2009 = £100.00Money to personal savings 2009 = £0.000 -

Morning everyone
Before I start saving towards my lump sum to clear my debts in 2011, I need to clear some family loans before then that aren't on my DMP but are in my budget. I wouldn't feel right saving whilst I still owe money to my family. Plus getting these paid off now will free up some more cash every month and I can put this extra into a higher DMP payment.
I owe:
£300 to my uncle
£500 to my mum
£250 to my sister
God, didn't think it was that much!! I only pay £50 a month to one at a time (paying off my uncle first) but I need to get them cleared ASAP. I'm going to give myself the rest of January to pay back my sister, February to pay back my uncle and March to pay back my mum.
So, there are 18 days left in January. I need to somehow get around £14 a day saved up. I did a mystery shop yesterday and have another one today where the fees are £8 each so I can put that £16 (which I will get towards the end of the month) in for today's payment and part of tomorrow's.
Will get my thinking cap on later at work. Must go and get ready.

Well I have done my mystery shop for today. I'm waiting on £39 worth of mystery shopping money to come through so that can go towards my sister's £250.
I've got some old phones that I can sell on Ebay, I reckon they will get between £20-£30. I've also got £9 worth of Luncheon vouchers that I might put on so that's around £30-£35 worth of stuff.
I'm also going to save my 1's, 2's and 5's for the rest of the month and then cash that in to put towards my total. I've already got just over £2 so hopefully I can get to at least £10. I've got a postal order in my purse that I have been meaning to bank for a while so will do that this week which is £4.20 to put towards the £250.
I believe all in all I've got ways of getting to £100 already.
Off to do my mystery shopping report online and enter a few comps too.

Hi Emily
Just wanted to wish you luck with your plans, you've certainly set yourself lots of challenges, and seem to have lots of enthusiasm too which is great!
Wanted to thank you for the Payment a Day thread too as I'm an avid PAD-er now and can already see the difference it's making to the balance on my 'chosen' CC (I'm tackling them one at a time).
I'll subscribe to your thread and pop in to see how you're doing as the year goes along.
Good luck!

Didn't get the chance to post yesterday.
I'm still waiting for my mystery shopping money to come through. They are all pending payment so hopefully the whole £39 will come through at once.
I'm going to list some stuff on Ebay at the weekend. I would like to try to get £100 from that so that I can put this towards my sister's £250.
I'm going to sell my pinecone vouchers and those old phones. I reckon I've got about £50 worth of stuff in mind. Will take a look around the house at the weekend though.
Mystery shopping jobs seems to be a bit thin on the ground at the moment. Need to catch up on my AQA too so that I've go enough from that to pay my rent next month.
I've got £2.55 so far in my change jar so over a quarter of the way to my target of £10 this month. I would love to be able to pay my sister back without having to take some money from my wages so that is my aim.
