  • I place an order online last night after hours of trying and was charged full price too. I have spoken to cs today and they have honoured the 75% discount and my goods are on their way.

I think you have to call and complain to get them to honour the discount so its worth a phone call.:j

I went to Boot's in Wood green yesterday and it was mad. I mush have been the only guy there. Will try next week as they might reduce what's left to 90% off.

I felt like I was the only guy!

  • :o Hi girls & guy(s),

I too had the "up-from-4.00-in-the-morning-trying-to-order-online" experience from hell yesterday and you all have my sympathy. I don't know if it helps but I (in desperation) ordered the stuff that I had saved to my favourites. It came up at full price and that is what I was billed. this morning I rang Boots CS ( 0115 9182000) and explained that the sale stuff had been charged at full price, so they said that when the stuff was delivered I was to ring them back and quote the reference number they gave me and they would raise a refund for the difference.

If it works maybe some of you peeps who missed out will get something from the sale and if it doesn't then I'll see you in Boots Basingstoke getting a refund.

(Excuse the user name ended up with it by accident and can't change it - feel a bit of a fraud!)

Don't know if I'd really want to pay full price on a large order and rely on them to refund me
    especially with all the chaos
    but......
I never even had the opportunity to decide :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I am sure you would not feel that the service was that bad, I note you got your order and I also note at 4am, so some serious planning there methinks
Perhaps you would not be so happy if you had not got your order through, like many young mums the housebound and others who just could not get out today, but spent hours trying to get the service that they should have got, and were looking forward to their bargains, many have been planning this for weeks.

I could not get out yesterday as I am on bedrest with asthma issues, so please do not make assumptions about me. In addition I said 4pm, not 4am, there was no foreplanning on my part. It is fine to look forward to bargains, but what I was saying is that it is a dissapointment to people of course, but there are much bigger things and its not worth anyone getting upset over, some people on here seem really upset, there will always be other amazing offers. I agree completely with Wendiewoo, its a case of perspective and this is a nice bonus, but you can't ever count on a sale, and in the past I have missed out on plenty when websites went down, such as the £9 travelodge rooms. The website gets that ammount of traffic on maybe 3 days a year, and it would be uneconomical of them to up the capacity year round for just a few days, and I'd rather they economised there than the staff jobs.

Hope you are recovering well WendieWoo

My hubby ordered yesterday too and got a confirmation email.
He phoned CS this morning to check the order and was told yes his order is fine and will be delivered monday.
Just recieved an email from Boots saying order cancelled due to technical difficulties! Has spent the last hour trying to get through to CS but can't get through to them.

As for my order, who knows....
I don't know if it's been despatched nor do Boots. Doubt I'll ever see it now but bet they see my money!

So if anyone asked for next day delivery and actually got their order let us all know.

Popped to my nearest branch again this afternoon and the shelves were completely bare apart from a couple of photo calendars. I wanted to get just a few gifts for forthcoming birthdays, as it's pay day, but no, denied!

Sorry to those whose orders have been cancelled, that's not on. Really hoping mine isn't but I'm not holding my breath now.
