Connected to a basic DVD player first. Image fairly good, best from a few meters away.
Connected to PC and ran some HD Videos from Quicktime/Media Player.... Much better! Nice crisp vibrant image.
Menu system takes a bit of getting used to. Looks exactly like it does in the picture. Build quality seems fine. Not stunning but what do you expect for the price. The manufacturer/model is Mirai T32114.
No dead pixels on this one. I see you can get it a fair bit cheaper here: http://www.microdirect.co.uk/productinfo.aspx?ProductID=12466 (£616.86 Inc VAT)
Just a side note to this particular screen, All 3 of them had no dead pixels! Hurah!0 -

I don't know if the TV has a menu option but basically just feed it rotating screens of different primary colours. This blurb might make it clearer.0 -
Kellm9 wrote:Hi c_smith,
I had seen this zero dead pixels policy. I think it only applies to monitors and not Tv's. On the Samsung website they say they adhere to the ISO 13406-2 Industry Standard. So on the 32" I think they can get away with 3 dead pixels or 5 sub pixels. To be fair the two that I have on my set are not noticable from normal viewing distance.
Just out of curiosity if I have a warranty claim is it through Freemans or direct to Samsung ? Also should I have a warranty card or something ?
Cheers

Your claim is through the retailer, ie, Freemans. If you've just bought the TV, you might be safer to "find" something else wrong with the TV, like a scratch on the screen or something. Legally speaking, I still believe that the dead pixels would be classed as manufacturing fault, but having had experience of awkward retailers and manufacturers in the past (nothing to do with dead pixels), it could mean a trip to the small claims courts for you if they refuse to budge.
If you paid by credit card, you can also take the matter up with your credit card company.0 -
HI
Had my 32 inch tv just over a week and was really impressed, that is until a white square appeared right in the middle of the screen. Im guessing this is a dead pixel. The tv will be return, am i entilted to an exchange as i have been reading that a certain amount of dead pixels is to be accepted. I cant see how this can be the case as noone would watch the tv with a white square in the middle
Thanks0 -
How big is this "square"?0

sounds like its a circuit rather than just a dead pixel"Save the cheerleader - Save the world"0

Received my bill from Freemans this morning and according to the girl on the phone I can pay them £48 a month for 10 months to pay off the £480 for my 26 IDTV. 0% credit as well as 20% discount am I missing something here, seems to good to be true.0

dm575 Be sure to find out what the TOTAL PAID figure is once you've paid all 10months, alot of low interest/0% things I've seen seem to make money from quietly hidden extra charges.
PS: LOL at the size of this thread, i took delivery of my Samsung 32" 2months ago and it's still going strong, surprised this is still going0 -
IT'S FINALLY ARRIVED!!!!!
I ordered on 3rd March and the delivery man turned up at the door this morning about 9.30 with my 26 inch IDTV. My first impressions weren't good because when I looked at the box the tape on the top had been cut and then sealed again. I wondered if this had been a return that had been palmed off onto me and started to worry about dead/stuck pixels, etc.
After setting it up, I went straight into the engineers menu to check if any hours had been clocked up on the set, but it was still at zero. There are no dead or stuck pixels that I can see and I'm very pleased with it. There were no fingerprints or anything on the set to suggest anyone else had been mucking about with it, so I am presuming that it has either been re-opened by the manufacturer as some sort of quality control, or by the retailer for some other reason. It certainly does not appear to have been used.
The only thing that seems to be missing is the four screws that secure the stand onto the TV. Maybe somebody opened the box to nick them or something. Anyway, I'm not sending it back for the sake of 4 screws, so I'm just about to phone Samsung to ask them if they'll send me some.
I've got a digital cable box connected to it via a Liteon 5025 DVD/HDD using the RGB scart outputs, and the picture quality is extremely good. Don't have component leads to try connecting it up this way, but I might get some just to see if it makes any improvement.
Oh, and the price is definitely £480 and I've still got my £30 Quidco discount to get. If you're still waiting on one of these be patient - it's worth the wait.0 -
