Had my 26" Samsung a couple of days now - some observations....

    1) No complaints with the picture - really excellent - but it's worth turning off dynamic contrast and automatic brightness. You can see the dynamic contrast stepping up and down on some scenes and it's quite annoying.

    2) The audio is pretty poor. Thin and lacks bass. A worthwhile investment would be a good quality set of 2.1 speakers sitting either side.

Yes i think i read somewhere when you're recieving less than optimal input i.e an analogue signal its best to turn off the 'intelligent' bits of the tv, i don't think it really makes the picture much better but makes the pictures degraded quality less obvious.

My speakers work really well actually, they don't lack bass. Yet to try out this TruSurrond sound thing though.

Hello, after ready most of the 100+ pages of this thread I have managed to get to the screen where the 32" model is reduced to £630.00 with the 30% discount code, however i have two questions:

    1) has any actually received the 32" model at £630?
    2) can anyone confirm the difference between the two samsung models on the freemans website? All i can see is that one has a digital tuner, but no model number is given on this one. The other one has no mention of a digital tuner. One is referred to as Samsung LCD TV, the other as Samsung IDTV LCD. So i presume the only difference would be that a digital tuner is included in one and not the other? But both are the same price???!
Catalogue numbers are 38C4041 (IDTV) and 57R7341 (LCD)

If anyone can help me asap it would be appreciated as i am desperate to get one of these for £630 before i miss the opportunity....

    HELP!!!!! (please!)

    1) Yes I have, for £630, as have others.

    2) As you say the only difference is that one, the IDTV, comes with a built-in digital tuner.

Why not go for one of the newer models since freemans have them now?

    Hi everyone,

This sounds fantastic - and I'd like to do it, but after trawling through thousands of posts - I've not quite got there.

    1) What's Quidco and how do I get 5% cashback
    2) What TV do I want to order and why??
    3) How do I get 30% off

I'm sorry to seem so blatantly lazy, but I'm well confused!!!!

Thank you exceedingly much for any advice offered.

    Hugz etc.

    1) Quidco is a website that gives you cashback if you use their links when buying from websites. You need an account with them, use their link to go to freemans and complete a purchase, this is tracked. Eventually you should get a 5% cashback of your total purchase price.

    2) Any tv you like :P Seriously though, the Samsung IDTV has been hott! It has recieved some great reviews, however its not that best lcd tv on the market. It's just fantastic for the price.

Okay, that all sounds brilliant and I'm now 3 big steps closer - so if Samsung isn't the best lcd tv on the market - which is and can I still get it by going via. Freemans???

Can't state which is best, its open to argument. But worth checking out AVForums.com where there are many more knowledgeable than me in this area. I'm pretty sure though that the contenders for 'best lcd' will cost upwards of £1800+ and that Freemans don't stock them.

Freemans do however stock the newer Samsung models so maybe they're worth that little bit more.

It's up to personal preference. You should go to John Lewis and have a look at the LCDs and see which one you prefer and go back home to look for it online

Well i went ahead and ordered today, but it doesn't look as though i will be getting one, given that other people who have ordered more recently have had the credit cards "declined"......
