Thats good news Rog that you won't have to relocate - when do you hope to hear?

Had hoped to have heard by now, MOT - They have updated me, the MD has spoken with three of his fellow directors and two of those are in favour, the third is a bit hesitant. He is hoping to talk to the fifth director today, so with a bit of luck, should hear this evening or tomorrow.

I'm sorry to hear about I_T. I hope the scan is favourable.

I've spent a lot of time at the hospital this week, too, as my eldest daughter gave birth to our first grandson on Tuesday. They have had to keep them in as there were a few 'complications' and the baby is in ICU as a 'precautionary' measure, so you can guess where we've been, most of the week. Still, the hospital is optimistic that he should be out of IC in a day or so, and home within a week.

Quick update to say that the lump removed from I-T's chest was a tumour and he has been diagnosed with spindle cell sarcoma. He had to have an MRI scan and CT scan last week to check if the cancer had spread any further.

We went for the results on Tuesday (just gone) and good news! It hasn't spread :j however, there are still some cancerous cells around the area of the tumour so he has to have further surgery to remove a large amount of tissue and possibly a rib to ensure it is all gone. Then possibly chemotherapy or radiotherapy afterwards.

He should hear early next week when he has to go in for the op - will keep you posted.

On a better note, the job is great! I love it, the people I work with are lovely and I do have some patient contact which brings out my caring, compassionate side :o:D
and it has been useful for advice re:I-T as the Doctors have been very sympathetic and knowledgeable.

On a lower note, my bl**dy back and hip are awful! I'm having 4hrs sleep a night which is dreadful! I have always been someone who could sleep for England so not good . But I went to see a chiropractor yesterday for the first time in a year (thank you wages :rotfl:) so I hope that I am on the mend!

    Hope you're all well xx

So glad that it hasn't spread MOT, I was just wondering about where you were the other day but obviously you've had a rough time.

I wasn't really going to post anything until I got final news, one way or the other, but, basically, I had a very good interview with the MD and met another director - was told that they needed to consult with the other directors, of which there are five in total. Heard back after about ten days to say that whilst three of the directors are in favour of taking me on, one was a bit sceptical given the current economic climate. The MD told me that he really needed to talk with the final director, as it would, of course, be better to have four out of five directors in favour, rather than a 'tetchy' 3-2 in favour. I fully agree, and wouldn't really want to work in a company where 40% of the directors either resented my presence, or would be, at the least, unsupporive of my role.
All that was about four weeks ago, then everything went quiet. In the absence of any news, I was beginning to assume that I had been, quietly, rejected - I had made a decision that I would wait for their reply, as it seemed that I was doing 'all the running' and was back at my usual pastime of 'scanning the job agencies' on the internet.
Then, today, I received an email, from the MD of the company, apologising for the delay - apparently the 5th director has een in hospital and they have now promised me a definitive answer this week.

I think that the above condenses to the following three words - 'I'm still waiting.' :o:o
