First day of training today, so I can see what I am supposed to be doing :j , this should make things a lot clearer as at the moment it seems like a bit of a cushy number and that is something I am not used too
. But I guess that actually shadowing someone will show me that there is a lot more to the job than I think!
Hope everyone has a good day xxChristians Against Poverty - www.capuk.org0 -
I have it on the q.t. that ASDA will counter-offer with a Board Directorship themselves
I've got no 'smilies' for flying pigs, &. Personally I think ASDA will be glad to see the back of me.
MOT - so pleased to see that your first day went well. :T :TI am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.

Indeed poorbabe - what a difference since we met a year[ish] ago.
Hope all is well with you, too?
Hi Ampersand :j. Seems like a lifetime ago that we met on that lovely Saturday. Is it only a year (ish?). Time seems to whizz by so quickly since I hit my 40s .
Life is good so far, or will be once the brighter warmer weather arrives. In the meantime chocolate and more chocolate, running and cycling reduces the potential for bad-temperedness (if that's even a word ).The 365 Day 1p Challenge 2025. Member #420 -
Well, that's my first week done:j
Had a lovely time training with another Ward Clerk at a different unit, she was so helpful and really nice to work with. I settled in really easily so I hope that on Monday when I go to my unit that all is as good as last week.
The job is very interesting and not as frightening as I thought - its just so different to working as a Sales Advisor for New Homes, but there are a lot of basic skills the same which will stand me in good stead for doing this job.
All in all, things are looking brighterChristians Against Poverty - www.capuk.org0 -

Started at new place today - what a sh*t hole the office was . Spent 3.75 hrs sorting out old filing dating back to 2003 so had a good clear out!
Bit disappointed though, as the job is not what I was trained for last week. My manager has just said she wants me to do the housekeeping and stationery orders weekly, filing when needed and keeping the notice boards up to date - none of the Ward Round notes or Case Notes to type as the woman last week does - apparently the Doctors do these themselves.
Also, these flexible hours to be worked as I want are not so - boss doesn't want me in Tues or Thurs mornings due to patient/family meetings in the office where I am based. She would prefer me to do 3 full days and have 2 off. I was told that I could work these hours as I wanted, so planned to do 3.75hrs a day during school holidays (term time doesn't matter so long as I am home for twins from school), if I have to work longer hours over 3 days then I will have a problem with getting the twins looked after in the hols.Christians Against Poverty - www.capuk.org0 -

Sorry to hear that, MOT.
Perhaps you should have a 'chat' with your 'boss' - maybe after a week or so, once you are established - tell her what you thought you were going to be doing. It's possible that she was not aware of the conditions that you accepted when you were offered the job.
If the job was advertised as 'flexible hours' and you agreed, in principle, your hours at your interview, then she really should respect this. Perhaps, though, she is not aware of what was agreed at the interview. :undecided
And the office can't be any worse than mine.
