Hi Julia
Good to hear from you - glad that it is all going well workwise. Hope the health starts to improve. Good news about school too. I have a feeling 2009 is going to be your year.
Hi Rog, indeed brilliant minds do think alike. Congratulations on the new addition. Hope to get things finalised with the job soon too.0 -

How's things in NZ? Are you all settled now? Do you work? Well I am not working yet. Two reasons, I needed to come of the anti depressants to see if I was ok now. That seems to be working out all right! And then you have to have the correct bit of paper to be legally allowed to work over here. The immigration service have messed me about SO MUCH    But I am hoping I should have my permit through any day now.
IT is suffering at the mo, he had a lump come up in his right breast a couple of weeks agp, about the size of a grapefruit  Was sent to the Breast Clinic yesterday for a mammogram and it turns out to be a blood clot. They tried to draw the fluid from it but despite pumping in saline twice it won't come out, so they are going to have another go next week and if it doesn't come out then they will have to surgically remove it. Please give IT a gentle hug from me. I really hope this is sorted soon. Must be very worrying for both of you.
He's just left to go and do a surveillance job so another late night and early morning for him!
I have read through the rest of the posts now so am up to date. I am so glad that you have stood up for yourself and asked about the difference between what you were promised and the reality of the job. I am not sure I would have had the bottle myself. And woohoo it came out on your side too. That is great.
And Rog I REALLY hope that you have got the job. Got everything crossed for you !
Trying to avoid thinking about the winter here, it is a bright sunny day, and still gets pretty hot (mid 20's centigrade), but it is chilly in the mornings now. Worst thing is that the house we are renting has single glazing and probably no insulation   , so you can imagine how much I am dreading the heating bills in the coming months. So I am going to have a challenge myself. To not switch the heaters on for as long as possible....
chevI want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?

Hi Chev,
A couple of years ago I wouldn't have had the bottle to stand up for myself either. Its amazing what going through so much c*ap can do for your confidence!
I-T is having operation tomorrow for removal of lump and has to stay in overnight, I will pick him up on Friday and bring him home to mine for the weekend.
Here's hoping for good news for you today Rog- would you need to move if you took the job?

I'm glad the job is working out well for you, MOT - I was a bit worried when you posted after your first real day at work, but it seems you've got that sorted - well done. :T :T
The job, if I get it, covers the whole of the UK and Ireland, so lots of travelling (which I like) but no need to relocate.I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.

I-T has gone in for his op to remove blood clot from breast this morning. But when I rang and spoke to the Sister she said that the procedure was different to what they thought they would do - the so called blood clot (which was the size of D cup) is in fact a lump. They have removed the lump and sent it off for analysis and are arranging for him to have an MRI scan. Sister couldn't tell me much more, so I going off to visit him as soon as the twins come home from school.Christians Against Poverty - www.capuk.org0
