ive got 70 quid of a new payg with virgin. the phones they have for 70 quid are really old, overpriced and dont have the features i want. i once phoned them up and a nice bloke said they have more phones than are listed on the site and told me some great deals, but when i phoned back a woman said its only available to virgin employees. i need a new phone but i cant afford one so this 70 quid is ideal, but to get a decent phone on virgin (i want an mp3 playing phone with camera) you have to spend well over a hundred and the same phones at the link are going for half the price of that. i want to use this 70 quid asap but not for an old outdated phone! any suggestions?

There are many phones with the features you want for around £70

no there arent, the seimens has no mp3 tones and the motorola is old and has a crap camera, its a lot cheaper elsewhere as well and i dont want to downgrade. i just wish virgin would sell newer phones at a price to match cpw or the link, most of virgins phones are still full price and ridiculously outdated.

That's the thing with PAYG - they can't guarantee to recoup the price of the phone with a line rental each month so they charge more for it in the first place.

How about getting a refurbished Motorolla V3 from O2 student website. it is £79.99 and most of the time they are unlocked and even if it is not them you can get it unlocked.

because i have the £70 off only with virgin and buying new (even if reduced) kind of defeats the object. ill never buy from the student site again after the trouble i had last time, and the v3 doesnt have the features i want anyway..but thanks!
