MOVING THREADS FOR BETTER RESPONSES
Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere(please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. If you have any questions about this policy please email abuse@moneysavingexpert.com.:hello:0 -
Hi all,
A little advice please ...
I won two nights in the Lakes with Times Online last October and was first notified via a 'phone call early November, when they told me I'd get a letter within a week. It never arrived, so I rang the comp. department late November and they had no record of it, said they'd look into it and ring me back and never did ...
I ended up emailing the editor in the end and attached a copy of the comp. details to him. He said he'd chase the sponsor and get them to write. Got nothing ...
Been in touch with him again a few weeks ago and no reply.
Just wondering what I can do now. I plan to email him again, but is there any sort of Ombudsman type organisation I can "threaten" him with. I've been very "nice" up until now, but think all this is unacceptable. Surely they should initially write to inform winners themselves, or at least have some sort of follow-up procedure to make sure winners are contacted by the sponsors?
Are Times Online renowned for this?
Any advice much appreciated!

Thanks toniq ... you're a star
Think I'll have one more go at emailing the Editor to see what he says ... but won't give him 3 weeks to reply this time

You could also mention that if the prize is not forthcoming soon you'll be forced to contact the Institute of Sales Promotion. And do contact them if you have no joy from other routes. Edwin Mutton is very good at making competition promoters come up with the goods.0
