I used to do comping as a hobby years ago and I have only recently taken it up as a hobby again. When I used to enter comps years ago, that was in the dark ages before computers were invented and back then, I used to belong to a club where you would each collect entry forms from shops etc and then swap them with other members. (Someone used to act as a kind of sorting office, so that if say you sent in about 30 of the same one, you got back a variety, not say 30 of another). Does anyone know if such form swapping still goes on anywhere? I still see entry forms from time to time in supermarkets etc. and wonder if the odds of winning for competitions where you have to have an entry form would be much better than ones where you just have to fill in you details on the internet.

Not sure if everyone already knows this, but if you use gmail, most comps don't know it's the same as googlemail - it means an extra entry on the instant ones like cadbury, and the refer a friend ones you can actually refer the same email address you enter with, rather than using any spare addresses you have :)

Added! Getting Started I, 3 Does the email address I use affect my chances of winning a comp? Thanks! :)

If u use roboform there is a "Save" button which comes in very handy on alot of comps where the forms need u to move the street name away from door number and put ticks in, for example, female first, marie claire, tiscali, i used this months ago to save the details, and it works without fail, speeds up alot of the comps which need details shifting to right area as roboform will automatically bring the details button up for u to click on.

    Morning all,
I don't usually have time to pop in here but thought I should ask if there is going to be a 2009 challenge ? (like the £2008 in 2008). I would love to sign up if there is.

    Hello people, remember me :o

Not been about as I have been and still am pretty poorly :(, never seen the doctors and hospital waiting rooms so many times! Not gonna go into details as thats not my style but I prob still won't be about as much over the next couple of weeks.

I've been entering comps from afar so if I haven't thanked you its nothing personal, I've just been doing them as and when I feel ok so a big thanks to those that have posted them x

Just a quick question for you all, does the dream prize challenge for 2009 sound feasible? I don't want to steam in and just do it if someone else has a better idea, if it is I want to get the thread rolling ready for next year and number allocation :)

    Thanks you two :)

I'll let a few more people comment on the idea before I go ahead, toni maybe you could put the word out in the compers inn?

I'll be back later and maybe I'll be able to do the thread then :)
  • Sounds good to me - my dream prize would be a big TV!! (Nipping in from the Inn - rushing back to my chair now!!)
Made it - 15 years married!! Finally!! xx:beer:
