Beauty Guild are running lots of comps at the moment and keep emailing me to check the winners list.

Has anyone won any of their comps? If so, could you let me know whether they contact you separately to inform you of your win or whether you are expected to check and contact them.

It's just there's so many, I was hoping I didn't have to check them all as they come through.

I just click on one email then use that link to check the ones that have recently closed.
    No biggie

I'm sure as you have supplied all required info that they would send you the prize without you doing anything, but I'm nosy and like to know who did win.

a few folk have won so I'm sure they will be able to confirm.

I remember us asking as well.

Different subject but connected (ITMS?) I don't understand why some comps are allowed on here that require a purchase and some are removed. There was one the other day that was deleted because you had to purchase men's shaving products, yet the Lucozade, Warburtons and Galaxy ones are allowed?

I think, though don't quote me on this, is if it is under the price of max text comp allowed on board £1.50. xxx

I am soo relieved to see Toniqs answer as well, as I have to admit I have been wondering since we asked last time. I did also pm a BG to ask, but never had a reply, so I guess they were very busy.

Sorry to be a pain, I missed the deleted thread so I'm a bit confused now.

I thought some were ok, like with some of the grocery type comps I have seen, where you need to buy the goods to get a code? But not if we needed to pay an entry fee to be in the comp? Or have I understood it all wrong please?
My light may be on, but that doesn't always mean I am looking at the PC - I am far more likely to be cuddling or feeding Tianna atm, so please don't think I am ignoring you if I don't reply quickly :)

good morning everyone I have tried this question before but without success so here goes again - I am trying to spend some time each day entering comps and tried entering "E:27/03"site:moneysavingexpert.com and noticed keep getting old comps from 2008 appearing - tried putting year in but doesnt work. I would be grateful for any help/advice as I would love to be a regular comper and of course hope to win some prizes but I'm not an experienced computer user and am going round in circles at moment. Thanks for listening and hopefully coming up with some help please:confused:

Hi, I suggest you start by reading the comping guide which is a sticky at the top of the board, as this is covered in there :)
2 Why can’t I search for comps that are ending on a certain date?
Unfortunately, the forum software isn’t specifically designed with comps in mind, it is only a small part of MSE. This means that certain functionality which we would dearly love to have simply isn’t available.

You can change the Forum thread order to sort posts by end date. Simply go to the bottom of any Forum page & on the left hand side is ‘Display Options’. Click on the ‘Sorted By’ dropdown & then select Thread Title. All 200 odd pages are now listed in Thread Title order.

Each thread will now be listed by the ending date used in the thread title. This means that the threads which end on a particular date will be grouped together - you will just need to find out which page they start from & then you are ready to enter comps for a particular end date.

WARNING: If you are entering comps on the day or even the day before they end you run the risk that perhaps the comp has closed a little early & your entry won't be counted. Another thing to bear in mind is that the Board Guides volunteer hours of their time to keep these boards clear & running smoothly so sometimes comps which are ending today or perhaps tomorrow (in rare cases) may be moved to Game Over a little early - this is a task which has to fit around their real lives & also when they have some spare 'online' time.
    SUGGESTION
: If you really want to only enter comps right when they are ending then I strongly suggest you get a couple of days ahead of yourself to avoid the above. :)

Another method you can use for finding comps that end on a particular day is to do a couple of searches using Google or another search engine using each of the following:

    "E:01/09" site:moneysavingexpert.com

    "E:1/09" site:moneysavingexpert.com

This method will find the comps for the dates you have selected whether they are in Competitions Time Forum, or even the Game Over & Regular Competitions sub forums.

Please note, this is a good way to find comps that end on the date searched, Please be aware though, that it will bring up all comps including those that ended in previous years!

I can't really give you a solution as I don't enter that way. I've always just entered comps as they're posted and kept up day to day. However, I have fallen behind recently and am now approx 30 pages behind everyday! An easier way to enter is just to start at the back and work your way forward making a note of where you are up to each day and start from there the next day. You will catch up eventually, it makes no difference if you miss out on some comps as loads more people enter them now than used to so our odds of winning have fallen ( I have had 1 win so far this year  )!

    NOW IN COMPING SEMI-RETIREMENT! :D
