Glad that you are getting a solution of sorts to your problem..and I understand your reasons for taking this route which I agree if you have the money to do this on reflection is the best course of action. The Early bird may catch the worm ...but its the second mouse that gets all the cheese!0

I understand you must be desperate by now but I would still write a letter of complaint saying that because of your circumstances you had no option but to accept the offer, but that you accept without prejiduce, I think that means you do not regard the matter as closed and you are looking for compensation. They let you down, and they will try to fob you off, if they won't give compensation write to the man at the Guardian newspaper giving all the details, you have nothing to lose by doing that.
I hope everything goes well for you now.0 -
BG are due to arrive tomorrow morning and I understand that they will be here all day. I checked and am told that they will indeed be undetaking a power flush. The £1000 I have negotiated includes a wireless programable thermostat and a the flue kit, so to be fair I am pretty happy. I still may go for soem kind of compensation later, but just want a warm house and a hot bath.
What's the betting that when I get home from work tomorrow, the boiler is not working because they didn't bring the correct left handed widget flandge?0 -

Of course we only hear about the bad things that happen, but that's when people ask for advice. You must agree the OP has been waiting long enough for something to happen, they have been without heat and hot water and with small children, they were paying BG to avoid this very situation.0
