I am so glad for you, it must be wonderful to have a warm home and hot water again. You will feel so relieved, that any thought of complaining might go out of your head. It's still worth letting them know that what you went through was unacceptable, in a polite way of course and ASK them what they are going to do to compensate you. You have nothing to lose. Are you off for another bath yet:rolleyes:

  • Have read all comments with great interest. To keep a very long story of phone calls, promises, lies, and utter confusion to a minimum, I Was given the run around by BG engineers, not too dissimilar to the above account. At the end of the day, I faxed (on Mon) BG after two weeks of alleged parts being ordered, engineers who had made bogus calls, ie not called but entered a call made on their system and gave them an ultimatum that if i did not have a fix by Thursday, i would take whatever action was necessary to reinstate heating and water. No reply to my email, mobile or home number, so on Saturday a local CORGI gas engineers insatlled a new boiler. This was due to the fact that for two weeks water had been leaking into every part of the boiler. The BG engineer claimed that he cam and changed the gas valve and PCB but as this did not fix the boiler he removed the new gas valve and put the old one back. My engineer said that he was of the opinion that nothing had been changed in the boiler. I am in the process of writing to BG for the cost which was not too bad at £1500 for boiler and installation. I plan to give 7 days to pay up or to take the case to small claims. Any thoughts or advice would be much appreciated and I will keep posted with progress.
