Debate House Prices

In order to help keep the Forum a useful, safe and friendly place for our users, discussions around non MoneySaving matters are no longer permitted. This includes wider debates about general house prices, the economy and politics. As a result, we have taken the decision to keep this board permanently closed, but it remains viewable for users who may find some useful information in it. Thank you for your understanding.

    Thanking policy
Just to be crystal clear. I thanked 1echidna but not DD. Why? Because I felt that there was a subtext to the DD post which I didn't fully agree with.

I shall be taking notes of any thanks I get for this and comparing it to the other thanks on this thread. Any conclusions will be posted in next months issue of "I'm a bit of a thanker".

Absolutely - as expressed above, I don't expect the new board would encounter problems AND I don't think mse currently has a big problem with unpleasant posters.

I checked and checked and could not find a post where I used the word 'Scadenfreunde'.

    You are so right.

OK, schadenfreunde then, I counted it at least twice.

    My error was a typo.

    Yours?

lol, I love it when I see someone try and be a pedant and correct another poster's spelling or grammar and then in doing so, make a mistake themselves.

How annoying it must have been for you when realise you'd screwed up your attempt at humour to the point where you become the butt of your own joke!!! :rotfl:

Incidently, forum members on other boards mock the HPC board because of the excessive use of the 'thanks' button. I try and only thank people who thank me or make any sort of point that I agree or disagree with. Thanks guys.

Gotta go and click a few 'thanks' buttons. be back later. :)

You know DD, as far as I am concerned, they can all just mock off.

Not at all, I find the joke highly amusing.

Still waiting. Mine was a typo - you, on the other hand, seemed to imagine that schadenfreunde (have I got your spelling right this time? ;)) is a type of person.

    Clearly more than a typo.

Can't wait for your analysis of how !!!!!! is a "pleasure taken from observing the misery of another"!

Obviously, I think !!!!!! is 'a pleasure', as does his mum, no doubt, but we weren't aware till now that you did too. :p

I'm sure you do carol, especially after I read all those allegations forum members were making about you two swapping 'saucy' PMs. :rotfl:

I'm not into that sort of thing myself, being happily married, but I'd imagine it'd be a bit pleasureable if you're desperate.
