Ahh as I see that DD hasn`t abandoned this thread I might as well reply. Clearly DD didn`t read my post correctly. Strange that other posters appear to have got the message tho!

I would like to see where I was mocking others or indeed looking down on them. Ah but that`s DD for you, always reading in stuff that isn`t there. Carolt sums it up. I have been through a recession whilst being very exposed and it is not at all nice. I have seen people chucked from their houses, businesses shutting and so on and I feel very deep sympathy for the people that are effected.

I didn`t pout or rant when the majority disagreed with me. Far more important things to do ( Oh DD, you can be a very silly little man). I did stop a couple of youngsters getting embroiled in all the hype.

Oh and by the way, I did as you in the bonanza times putting away as much as I can.

All my life I have been in sales and marketing. When I was in the States we used to say" don`t sell the steak, sell the sizzle". The last 10 years, imho, has been about selling the sizzle. Ramped up by all the property !!!!!!, the " you are worth it" decade, celebs, oh I could keep going on about this. I feel that as a society we got steered away from reality and sadly so many fell for it.

So don`t state things that I didn`t allude to .Re read my post. If others got the drift I can only assume you misread it or are thicker than I would have ever imagined.

I didn't ask you about Schadenfreude. Everyone knows that. I asked you about 'Scadenfreunde', which you accused !!!!!! of being one of - still never heard of that. ;)

I am a 'Forum friend' (in a manner of speaking) and making snide asides at me appears to give him a lot of joy, so I guess I am one of the Schadenfreunde here......

Making a fuss of German spelling is a bit unfair though ;)

Judging by your number of 'thanks', you clearly please a lot of people (even if 'joy' might be taking it a step too far....;)).

!!!!!!. I want an answer now.

Why, oh why, do you have a picture of Bernanke as your avator?

    Really concerned.

I checked and checked and could not find a post where I used the word 'Scadenfreunde'.

Clearly this is one of those 'he said, she said' misunderstanding that go around and around with people getting increasingly irate, increasing confused and everyone else wonders what the heck it's all about. Lets therefore stop it here.

I said that some people on these boards are horrendous, I didn't name names, but we all know who they are. We also all know who they are not, and I would include you in the list of 'not', Pobby.

I do not remember ever having seen a single post of yours where you gloat at other people's misfortunes or pour scorn on any decisions they made in the past. I would say that you're similar to myself in that you saw that the UK could not continue down the path of continuous HPI and you tried to warn people about it. End of story.

EDIT: If you look at my first post on this thread and that of '1echidna' and check the usernames of those who 'Thanked' us you will see certain prominant posters missing. It is unlikely that anyone who clicked the 'thanks' button and therefore agreed with what I was saying, would be the people who actually post the gloating messages. You clicked the 'thanks' button so you must have agreed with me, and so QED, you must not be a gloater :). carolt and !!!!!!? didn't 'thank' I notice... :(

Well thankyou DD. In future I would be pleased if you read my posts at face value and not make assumptions. I`m a "what you see is what you get" kinda person ". I try to keep my posts unambiguous with no hidden agenda.

And perhaps you'd do me the same courtesy with my posts...
