I believe they can still chase you for the debt irrespective of whether it is private or not. You may wish to double check.
Though in any case, you can still argue as to who the driver was

Just an idea. Why didnt you just pay the fine? You parked where you should'nt have and should just bite the bullet and pay up? Why bother lying to wriggle out of it? I hate it when somebody parks where they should'nt, it can be dangerous.

Ah, so you werent paying for something you should have. Just annoys me that people cant just accept they have done wrong. You are another one of them people who try to wriggle out of and find loopholes in the system. Just accept you parked without paying for the time and pay.

My opinion is: if someone claims you owe them money it is classed as debt.
yes, you can dispute it etc. but if anyone stops you on the street or writes to you to demand payment of money, it means you are indebted to that person
  • WHAT? listen i was 10 mins late- do u think that is woth £100. do you believe that kind extortion is correct?

I honestly do nto think it is worth that amount but then they would argue that they reserve the rigth to set a huge amount as a deterrent.
I wish you all the luck

Oh that makes it easy then!!! LOL

Please send me £500- immediately. I noted you drive past my house the other day and you could not have failed to see the sign warning of the £500- charge. Hurry up or the debt will increase!

yeah right - not very realistic is it.

Yes it does sound easy. Some one can make a claim or an allegation of a debt. It is left for you to dispute.
The techinal definition is that it is still clased as a debt until u can prove the person requesting the money is chatting rubbish or has no valid proof etc
