Hello everyone
Well I've been a bit quiet on here cos I've been a tad busy...... lots of lists, review of Jan expenditure and objectives so far, business propects review, even more lists.....(Poor you would be proud of me!)
So over the last few days I have been doing some tough thinking, a lot of business development and made the decision not to go to the job interview
a) I have just got some work this month - so should now be able to bill enough in Jan to cover expenditure for the first time since last April :j
b) I now have enough potential work (which I think i can definitely get orders for) to keep me busy until April and cover monthly expenditure - should hopefully secure most of that by end of next week :T
c) I have identified enough potential work for this coming year to generate a monthly income to cover my expenditure and give me enough over to start rebuilding my savings/pay off the mortgage drawdown and credit card - this work will take a little longer to secure but should be in place by end of March. That means I can work from home and oversee the rebuilding that will start in spring
Therefore there does't seem any point wasting two days at the beginning of Feb (Plus the cost) going up north for a 1 hour interview. The job lacks a couple of very important wants, would require another major upheaval in terms of relocation and is not the right opportunity for me.
Had another big shock yesterday evening....completely and unexpectedly out of the blue my parents announced they are selling the family home of 35 years to move 4 doors down the road. (Prospective buyer has already viewed and is bringing an architect round on monday) .......oh and they're going to New Zealand on holiday for four weeks at the beginning of Feb. Now I know it's only bricks and mortar....and they had been talking about downsizing for years (although had made the decision 18 months ago to stick it out where they are because it's such a lovely house)....nevertheless I was amazed at how wobbly I felt....(and confused about their timing!)
The family home has represented the one remaining solid anchor for me in all the trials and tribulations of the last 18 months -my house, partner, job, health, friends and siblings have all disappeared for one reason or another ....and although I'm rebuilding it's very clear to me (especially after Grommie was ill on monday) that I am still pretty emotionally vulnerable to sudden changes in my life ...so baby steps for a while longer methinks
Well I'm off to do some ironing and will post an update on the weekly/monthly objectives tomorrow (Otherwise this post will be way too long:rotfl: )
Hugs to all
Wol2
