Am in for the party, & can supply tents ( 3 at last count) Hey H - we can have our own version of Glasto but with fab facilites en suite
Bonne Vacances Karmacat :j
As for whipping - I was thinking of walnut whips:D
Our own version of glasto sounds good as long as we don't have the mud:rotfl:0 -
:j:j:jYay gals....... Glasto chez Wol sounds good (providing the stream behaves itself
)
I'd completely forgotten of course that by then there will also be a new outbuilding (chez piggies) if it rains for those of you without allergies to furry things or hay
.....and I am making enquiries of the local hostelries (we have two in the village that offer B &for discount rates for block booking
Hmmmm....Wonders if Rev Clio could be persuaded to make guest appearance rather than provide a weather forecast :think::think:

Did someone mention Party - next year at Chez Wols?
Count me in - I can bring a tent and a sleeping bag:rotfl:
I heard that the weather was terrible on Thursday night - ex OH was supposed to be driving up from London but decided that the thunder was a bit too much to cope with. He promised to get up at 5.30am to drive to Brum but he was still in his bed at 8.30am:rolleyes: I was an inconvenience and to be honest when he did arrive he showed his true colours and made me walk the entire length of the hospital to meet him by the lift because he was too bone idle to collect me from the ward:mad: I couldnt wait to be rid of him and I managed it yesterday morning and now he is talking about coming up again this weekend:eek: I can manage to cook, in a few days I will be able to have a bath without fear of drowing or passing out and I shall make an appointment at the hairdressers to get my hair washed (it sticks out and doesnt feel very nice:eek:).
The op went well and my fellow patients were great fun - we had to make our own entertainment because the ward tv was bust (I don't think it has ever worked). Firstly, we were entertained by a drug crazed loonie screaming and rampaging up and down saying that he wanted to leave - instead of placating him I would have just let him out but no the nurses decided that he needed treatment:rolleyes: One of the loos was occupied and I needed to use the other one so I went to the nurses station to ask for some loo paper (how degrading) and I saw crazed loonie outside the dayroom wielding a large blue chair a la lion tamer style. Nursie pointed me in the direction of the tissues on my bed - so I went to collect a huge wodge and then went about my business. Going back to my bed was a bit more exciting as crazed loonie had come down to the women's section and this time he had picked up another chair and waved it in my face, as you can appreciate I did not like this as I had an eye patch on one eye and couldnt wear my glasses. I was shooed back to my bed - I thought about ringing the police but didnt as I had been told to keep quiet. Police arrived to escort said loonie away (it appeared that he had kicked off at the weekend too and received a police escort from the ward then), such is the effect of anaesthetic on my body I needed to go to the loo again and had to ask a policeman if I could go - how embarrassing that he saw me in my primarni jimjams:eek: After the excitement, us ladies were thinking of all sorts of gruesome ways to inflict pain on the loonie - all involved long thick needles and no anaesthetic.:rotfl:
My eyesight has improved somewhat although the central vision in my left eye is non existent still but the peripheral vision is a whole lot clearer and it no longer feels as though I am looking through some dark frosted glass:j All I am doing is sleeping.
Weather here is grotty today so my planned trip to the paper shop has been postponed. Wol - let Numpty iron his own trollies - he needs to become a bit domesticated and do stuff like cooking.
I hate carboots where you don't earn much - last year I did one and it rained and I got £47 but at another one on a sunny day I only got back £10 which was the entrance fee - lots of !!!!!! wanting stuff for nowt.
Horace my dear...an epic post that has me laughing and crying at the same time. So sorry you have not had quite the "support" that you may have wished for from ex-OH.........especially after a humungous ordeal at the hospital....but story told with your usual aplomb ...have you considered being a writer?
Most important thing atm is to make sure you make a speedy recovery......if you need some R & R at bide-a-wee-guinea home, just let me know.....chez Wol is here....Birmingham to Gatwick via Reading ...and you can sleep all you want and have luverly meals cooked for you....and guinea pig cuddles (hopefully no wees in the process).....but I don;t iron womens undies I'm afraid :rotfl::rotfl:
Hugs Hun....it's a real p*sser recuperating from an op ...don;t push yourself to hard atm.....
(PS is there no chance any policeman-totty is going to come round and take a statement?)

I write already Wol on my daft blog:rolleyes: Anyway I thought you could do with a laugh. I can regale you with the tale of the broken spectacles now too - last night I went to bed and took my glasses off to partake of some eye drops but I noticed that when I put said specs on the bed that the lens moved which its not supposed to do, then I noticed that the screw was hanging out. So I jumped up and blundered into the front room grabbed my reading glasses (they look naff but I can't complain as they were free) and proceeded to tip my handbags out onto the floor in a desperate search for the special screwdriver that I knew I had for fixing spectacles - could I find the dratted thing? I had to try and resort to using a small but larger than necessary screwdriver to do the job but it was like using a sledgehammer to crack a nut:rolleyes: I carefully placed my wonky specs into their case with a vow to go to town today clutching them to my bosom and try and find an optician to fix them. Trying to negotiate my way around my flat whilst wearing reading glasses is not a good idea but I decided to have one last ferret in my handbag and voila I found my special screwdriver and so I managed to fix my glasses myself:cool: - you would have laughed at the sight of this woman who took off her reading glasses to peer and squint to tighten up the loose screw - all screws have been tightened so hopefully that will do the trick.
Reverend Clio hasnt been seen or heard from for months so who knows where he is?
Oh and no chance of being interviewed by any policemen totty although I will see my delicious consultant on 29 July (pity he's married with kids as he is quite tasty). No totty of any kind on my horizon:rolleyes:
Ironing - what's that? I have an iron but rarely use it and I certainly don't iron my undercrackers. I went out this evening to get some horrid tv dinner (I couldnt be bothered to cook real food), a packet of biscuits and a bottle of milk and got rained on but I am improving - its the dilating drops that I have to take at night that are causing me to be a bit unstable. Oh and at the risk of a thumping headache I managed to wash my hair today - normally my mate Sal would do it as she is such a chum but she has moved to Wisbech and I mentioned this to another MSE person who offered to come and wash my hair for me on his way to Worcester, I would be too ashamed for a stranger to see me in such a condition which is why I braved the side of the bath to do it myself.0 -
"undercrackers" !
Horace, you are a tonic

The Environment Agency (Operations Division) made an impromptu visit and have said they may be doing works to the opposite bank of the stream including digging out the landslip, and cutting down all the vegetation over the next few weeks.....:j:j..Good job as my strimmer/brushcutter blew up yesterday in mid-hack .......but let's not get our hopes up too much......watch this space
