:hello::hello::hello: Hello! Back from France. With swine flu, but no drumming. No tamiflu either - I could get a prescription, but spoken to my GP too, and since I've been symptomatic for 5 days already, and I'm not dead, I'm not going to bother. Cancelling what clients I do have, obviously ..... I really don't care, again its a case of, when you're ill, you're ill. I've never been *absolutely* flat on my back with it, tho, I'm obviously one of the mild ones. :) thank god.

Horace, your hospital stay sounds dreadful. How are you doing now? I've got a shopping delivery coming tomorrow, and I'm using disposable plates and cutlery where I can.

Wol - was yours swine flu or not? You sounded very ill for a bit there.

Hope everyone else is well. TBH, now I've got it and I'm not dead, I'm glad I've got it - I don't have to worry about disinfecting everything every time a client comes in, and if/when it mutates, I'll probably have some protection. Honestly, the silver linings we have to find .... :rotfl:

Welcome back Karmacat - poor you having piggy flu though. I feel sure that I had it at the start of summer, it just felt like flu and I self medicated with the contents of my medicine basket:rolleyes: (I have no medicine cabinet to make do with a basket).

Eye is recovering nicely although it is still a bit sore and it would help if I could manage to stop accidently poking myself:rolleyes: - I am due at the eye hospital tomorrow for a check up and hopefully I can ditch some of the meds.

Oooh errrr......Wol hangs head in shame........

Really sorry peepies but it;s been a busy few weeks with builders in....

They are so demanding of my time and effort.........

Unlike Numpty who has been as good as gold and helps field all the enquiries :A:A

But unfortunately clients have also been VERY demanding (Wol has had to drop everything to put together rescue packages to save companies from going bust and may now have to travel to Brussels on 20th Aug :eek::eek:)....bit intensive..and some of stuff atm is UNPAID FOR :mad::mad::mad:

Good news: Numpty is fantastic...my outside "works" are going brill (don;t forget big DFW party 17th July next year :D)

Unfortunately today Dodget bodget et al have yet again shown themselves up....and Wol IS NOW FACING ANOTHER £3K Bill to put it right (to stop water leaking into my house and staining wallpaper)?????? ;)

Watch this space for Wol;s revenge :D:D:D:D:D

Lots of letter writing/fights and timescales are now cutting in....will start new diary on 15th August (this represents the one year warranty perod :D)....

So tonight have moved most of guineas into Ark in view of imminent flooding (which has delayed builders two days as now the garage can;t be delivered til mid way through next week )

    Good news however
    a) Wol has new top totty piccies to share..Soon (down girsl down!..and Numpty don;t worry have edited you out;) )
    b) Wol starts new diary 15/08 :T:T:T
    c) There is a big DFW party on 17th July next year chez Wol_party__party_:dance::dance::dance:

    Horace...c'mon..spill!
KC see you soon Hun, you is still in diary
    Lula...ditto
Numpty....the piggies are missing you :D

Hugs to all..we are still here (just!!)..tomorrow IS another day

There's nothing worse than builders called bodgit and scarper:rolleyes: You must have the patience of Jove dealing with them, solicitors etc.

Well done on the business side of things though and a trip to Brussels can't be all bad either even if part of it is unpaid.

My news - well you may have already seen elsewhere on the forum. I had a meeting yesterday with a firm who hire out sound equipment and the like for corporate events plus they run an entertainment agency. I met up with one of the directors at a BestofBusiness seminar (he was the only decent contact from that waste of space event:rolleyes:). The purpose of the meeting really was to find out about the entertainments side of things but then we talked about the different types of events that I had organised in the past - usually corporate stuff to which I was then asked if I would be willing to work with them as they were branching out into events management. Well I would have been a fool to say no so I immediately said yes then got to talking about how it would work and the important bit fees (I felt a bit strange asking about fees but I needed to know how much I could expect to get). The way it would work is that the client would contact them and they would contact me - I would submit a contract either that or they would send me one, it would look as though I worked for the company and not as a separate entity and I would get 15% back on whatever the fee collected from the client is and I found myself agreeing to the same kind of deal only in my case its a bit more negotiable with regard to entertainment so for instance the supplier's string quartet would be my string quartet and my clients wouldnt know that I was working with an outside entity. Demo disks would be sent with no stickers so that I could apply my own stickers as though the acts were mine:cool: I just need to write two paragraphs to go onto their website. I must do that this week.

I was supposed to go to see my solicitor but felt ill as it was too hot plus I was laden with selfridges bags:eek: 1 large bag contained my coat, a brochure and my filofax and the other contained yet more new clothes:eek: I saw my solicitor today and picked up a fat cheque from my ex employers:j I took £30 of waterstones vouchers with me (free from consumerpulse) and ended up buying 3 books and spending over £50 - the books are essential reading. I submitted my first assignment for my new course which arrived yesterday.

I have to laugh with consumerpulse - I enter my shopping (clothes) and asks me for the brand so I say Fenn Wright & Manson and then I enter the price of the item e.g. a skirt £109 (it is pure silk) and then a warning flashes up that the price is outside the expected price range - now what the heck are they on about? Why give the option of Fenn Wright & Manson and then expect that item of clothing to cost a fiver? I dont need to buy any more clothes other than maybe some comfy shoes and some undies - these clothes should last me years:j

Today I heard a funny job name on the telly - it makes me smile everytime I think of it - a sagger maker's bottom knocker:rotfl:

Hi folks.... yep, I kept expecting to see Wol's diary, and didn't... mind you, I thought she'd run away to Weybiza ... I hope it went well, Wol. Thanks for the diary note - by then, I'll absolutely be fighting fit again. I did go get tamiflu in the end (well, my flu friend got it - my actual flu friend was away on holiday, so his wife got it for me, as well as paracetemol, she was a diamond). I feel like I have my life back! Now I just have to find my camera in time to go to Wol's and take more piccies of the piggies...

Good to hear you're on the mend. Piggies are having a wash and brush-up for the photo session (I drew the line when they asked for a visit to the local piggie parlour :D)

Numpty will also be down at the weekend........hopefully not caked in concrete :rotfl::rotfl:
