Olive when I write to folks firstly I will send a letter to the complaints dept and if I get no joy there, I write to the chief exec or MD and always write on the envelope To Be Opened by Addressee Only - that way I can be fairly sure that nobody else will open it. I managed to get Monarch to pay what they owed me for a new suitcase as they smashed mine at Alicante airport and left me with zero help.
Its been a day and half today - I am now trying to get my head around emails (I give up and will ask the webby people to do it) - it too complicated for my little brain. I was ticking along quite nicely until I received a Dear Horace letter/email from a friend - saying that it would be best if I didnt contact her (I made a comment on facebook in reply to a thread about her mourning a cat - the animal didnt belong to her and I put something along the lines of the fact that the owners let it suffer instead of putting it to sleep) - well it seems from that comment I am now an animal hater and I have no compassion because I haven't emailed or sent a text message to dear daughter who is inconsolable - blimey if I had known then I would have sent a flippin wreath and a condolence card, put on a hair shirt and beaten myself senseless:rolleyes: Well, I responded in kind to said email and asked her not to bother contacting me again - she has been removed from my computer, her email has been blocked, her numbers have been blocked on my phone, I have permanently removed her from my group on facebook and the same goes for being a friend and I feel mightily relieved:D Why does it always happen to me? Why do I get the nutters?
Well tomorrow I am going to ring the parish office in Kings Norton to ask about bellringing - I need to do something to strengthen my back and what better way then bell ringing - now I wonder if I need to have a sense of rhythm because if I do then I am stuffed:rolleyes: I think that I also need a new charity to support and I think that St Nicolas Place fits the bill (this is the old tudor buildings area in Kings Norton) - its an area where the locals can use the rooms and have a cheap lunch.0 -
Bloomin' 'eck....1000 posts :T:T:T:T
Hi Gemzzie
How's you Hun? Everything OK I hope? I did see on Daily Chat that some friends have let you down on some concert tickets.....some friends
And poor Horace too .....Hmmm...wonder if it's the weather
Well, a weather warning flashed up when I got back at 11.30 tonight for the south east...and it looks from the maps that rather a lot of rain is about to fall between 1 and 4am......:eek:....convective weather suddenly "broke out" over France and is heading this way......
So , I've brought all the piggies inside my ark, (which is much hotter than outside so they are not very happy), put up the flood doors, opened all the windows to try and bring down the temperature, tried to put all the pots/hanging baskets waiting to be hung on higher ground, moved the car (my neighbours must love me crashing around outside well after midnight) and am now awaiting the approaching thunderstorm _pale__pale_
Wish me luck.......oops...first flash of lightning...better start closing some of the windows

Hi Numpty
:hello:
After all the pallaver last night..:o...it looks like most of it missed us :T. Hopefully enough fell to start softening up the ground which, being clay round here, is baked hard. Hopefully therefore, if we are unlucky enough to get another monsoon on the forest, the ground will soak it up this time instead of directing it at my house
Got a lot of grumpy guineas to put back into cages this morningFlooded 20/07/07.

Poor little grumpy guineas! They don't know about what you might have had to save them from, tho ..... I'm glad it wasn't too bad, Wol - here, I got up about 2.30 and it was a steady rain, not particularly heavy - just what you want after a prolonged dry spell like this, as you say the ground has time to soften rather than just getting runoff. For me, its lucky its today - I'll be getting back really late from work in London, and my potted plants outside won't die cos I haven't watered them. Thats got to be good.2023: the year I get to buy a car0
