she grinch - brilliant idea !!! Must do that - we've got plenty of stones in the garden and I get a repeat prescription so regular supply of pill bottlesLast year I did a 'secret hideaway' type jar - jar with toilet roll tube down the middle, fill the jar around it with dried beans or something (grandaughters had beans and hair bobbles, grandson had marbles, DIL had dried beans).........definitely going to do one of these stonesMary

The things you can do with jeans are amazing..........if only I had a sewing machine.............OH is sorting through a pile of jeans at the weekend for a Heart Foundation bag to be collected on Monday. :eek:Mary

Or paint white, cream or pastel for sophisticated look

If you go to the Grinch's very first post on this thread and click on the first link to the hat made out of an old jumper, go to page 9 and there's a really beautiful scarf made of scraps of material.

Thanks she grinch - I might try this for sister's new baby (thinking it might be easier on a smaller scale).
It's worth reading to the end of the page where all the comments are - the comment at the bottom has a tip for finishing that seems easier than the way it's done in the tutorial.some people grin and bear it, others smile and do it0 -
Went through all OH's jeans that he's putting out for the Heart Foundation and they're not really any good. They're his work jeans and haven't washed up very well............not grubby, just........well, horrible. Wouldn't want to make a cushion out of them.
But I think one of our lads we look after might have some kicking around that they don't wear anymore so all may not be lost.
Failing that............Just thought.........I've got some brown courdroy trousers that wore a bit thin round the backside (too much sitting down maybe ?..........lol) they would be nice for a cushion especially with a bit of felt applique on.:jMary

I had the same idea and was thinking of buying a cheap cot size fleece for the lining from home bargains, which were only a couple of pounds each if I don't manage to pick one up from the charity shop.Pucker up and kiss it Whoville! - The Grinch:kiss:0
