What with hospital and everything I'm all behind myself with stuff to do. Having a rummage yesterday I found a woolly hat with a tassel on, sort of ethic typy colours............what can I turn that into ? I can use the tassell on a key ring but don't want to waste the rest of it.

You could always use it as a hanging basket liner

How about a bag / pouch?

    Thanks for the ideas
Like the tea cosy idea but there's only one seam so I'ma bit worried about how I'd make a hole for the spout without wrecking it.

Hanging basket idea would be ideal indoors but we don't have any:confused:
The ones we have outside will be full of tomatos and it seems to nice to be out in all weathers.

Bag or pouch...........might have a go at that. Still got an old cardigan to make a bag out of so I'll put it in that 'project' pile.............lol

I once saw door stops made out of old wooly hats. One upside down on the bottom, and then one on top , with buttons and felt sewn on to make a face ( if for kiddies bedroom doors etc). Obviously stuffed and sewn together.

Just had another closer inspection of the hat......it's more like fleece with knitted patten on and I think I'll turn it into a 'mug cosy'..............just involved undoing one seam and creating another and shortening it -the tassle will be a key ring ...........two pressies for one:j

Just an update on my mug cost made from the hat - bit fiddly but it worked :j Just so my son knows what it is I've cut out a mug shape and put it round it and popped a tea bag inside.........:rotfl:

Still on the 'recycling' I've turned mazyonaisse jars into jars of snowballs (ones got bath bombs in it the others having marshmallows nearer christmas), pringle tube is now a snowman covered in white felt complete with face and a sock for the hat............just need to find something for a scarf.
Coffee mate jar was already white so just popped eyes nose hat and ribbon for scarf
Horlicks jar was a bit stubby so thats just a snowmans head.

Latest 'make' is a dish with some pebbles in (think I saw it on here but not sure)...........bigger pebble has eyes and a guitar (son plays guitar and is music mad!) Just need to work out how to put 'Neil Rocks' on it........the dish is a bit to roughly shaped to stick letters on so any ideas ?

I made this funny reindeer for DS (4) from one of his baby fleeces :) I also use old jeans and recycled fabric to make bags, brooches and pincushions.
