Ignore them... make sure they have a fixed place to work in, then pretend they aren't there. Exclude the area from weekday flying, but don't offer them cups of tea/meals - they can come and get them when they need them. DO however, let them know if you're going to do something noisy - last week my dad decided to do some drilling while I was on a teleconference :rotfl:0 -
I have flu so rang my manager yesterday to let her know I couldnt' teach but she made me go in to sort some admin out. So I did that this morning then carried out a major piece of decluttering by telling the big boss that i'm resigning.
Oooh feel a lot better now.................. ;-) Hope I left enough germs in the office............
:j :j :j :j :jI still can't copy and paste.
Holly, not sure if you have been told before and it's just not working, but just in case:
Open the quote you want to copy
Highlight all the part you want to copy (remember to include the quote bits if you want it to still be as a quote - I copy all and just delete the bits I don't want once I've pasted it)
hover the mouse pointer over the words that are highlighted, then press the 'ctrl' button and 'c' button at the same time.
Once you have done that, go to where you want to paste and click in the right spot
then press 'ctrl' button again and the 'v' button at the same time - this should now paste.
HTH and glad your washing machine is OK now...SummerMoon wrote: »Another update from me.
HMMMMMMM nothing to cross off and yet I havent stopped lol.
Living room floor didnt get cleared, I hung out 2 loads of washing and tried to find the floor in the kids room. On finding the floor I proceeded to hoover up all the squashed in crisps and biscuits and muck and mud!
Summermoon, I often find that, so what I do is add the things I have done onto my list and then cross it out! sounds batty (and probably is) but the sense of achievement seeing things crossed off is fantastic and highly motivating to me - hope it is to you too...;)Christmasshopper wrote: »Good afternoon Flyladies. This is my first post of the day. I didn't dare post until I had something relevant to say. I spend the majority of my time alone and over the past few months you have been real friends and given me the encouragement to get my house in order. Sometimes a few kind words or a little joke are what I need to see me through the day until my DD gets home from school. I will miss the chat and I will miss the friendship.
I spend most of my time alone too christmasshopper - this thread is very important to a lot of people for this reason - this is why I got no housework done indoors as basically I was getting depressed, coming on here cheered me up, made me realise what I could do, and really did encourage me - we do not want to lose you because of this.
I know I have been chatty about this, and I am truly sorry, but unlike most threads it is not a necessity to keep up on here - the encouragement is needed to do the housework at the time - ie: 1pm I need to clear my desk, 2pm you nag me to clear my desk with lots of 'encouragement', 3pm desk is cleared, people reading at 4pm don't NEED to know that so can read on from when they get in... and then get their own encouragement for their bit - it's that kind of thread to me - you shouldn't be put off by lots of posts or scared to post for that reason.
I may be well out of line here, but I am usually on both sides - on my days off I rely on this thread to keep me moving and when I am working I haven't a chance in hell of catching up, but still come on to let you know I am here and trying, and you welcome me back with open arms...
I don't think there is a happy medium that can be reached about this, and I am very concious that it could cause Pigpen lots of headaches - I am very sorry if I am one of those headaches and I will only post with replies and updates, not trivial blurb, I hope that will be acceptable.LBM April 2013 - £29,000.00Vanquis CC's PAID - Debenhams SC PAID - A+L OD PAID - Asda CC £783.75Barclaycard CC £1400.78 - BoS CC PAID - Freemans Cat PAIDF/D Loan & CC £1458.96 - Santander Loan PAID - Mum Loan PAIDRBS OD PAID - F/D OD £1026.52Weekly Grocery Challenge - £95.00 budget / spend £-0 -
I don't dare post now
Worried I'll say something wrong!
Anyway I've done not much all day apart from sewing two badges on, emptying and filling the dishwasher and the same with the washing machine!Fluttering about an inch off the ground, I may fly properly one day and soar in the clouds!
SPC2 #571 - trying to get as much as possible0 -
discussions on the best way to clean your oven, extol the virtues of stardrops and what cloths we prefer are relevant.
Pictures of shoes aren't(unless incorporated into a flying post)
Posts announcing a HHC/HHI etc ARE allowed.
Posts about your MIL's dog are allowed IF they are incorporated into a post that is on topic.. you know.. you post your list and then a bit about your FIL's piles.. That is ok.. but we are having endless posts which are simply nothing to do with flying in any capacity and it is hogging our space.
The guides have not said anything.. I did.. As the illustrious leaderI think it is up to me to make the thread accessible for as many as possible and even I am struggling to keep up and am finding just skimming the thread I am missing important bits of peoples lives and new members. I want to get the thread back on topic because I know a lot of time is spent chatting and reading on here wasting valuable flying time.. see mule throwing too!
I'm not saying 'no chat' I am saying limit it to your flying posts and if you want an off topic discussion please take it to the facebook/yahoo groups.
Multiple quote posts are fine!!! They cover a lot of things and as long as they have a bit of flying relevance I'm a happy piggy!!
The thread has been threatened with closure before when it went off on a tangent and it is too important to so many people to risk losing it.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Thanks for all the wishes for OH... his interview was this afternoon.. but he wont know for another week or so as they have more interviews to do on thursday. There are least 7 people going for the job so I'm not getting too excited.... but it would be lovely if he got it - we really could do with the money and better hours
Needed to go the PO today but the queue was out the door so wasnt waiting... popped to Netto instead of tesco for a few bits. Washed some more of my laundry mountain and so need to swap WM and TD in a min... also going to hoover before gets too late......
(oooh and ponder why my ex stopped me in the street today totally out the blue to ask after the baby ... i aint spoke to this guy in past 5 years since we broke up despite working in the same place for a while/passing each other in the street hundreds of times etc... some flyladies willl remember me saying about an ex getting shot few months back in an accident... well it was him... maybe he had some kind of life changing experiance then and decided to be nice to me next time he saw me:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: )

Thanks Dusty, didn't think of Bicarb... will get some while I'm out as I am still sitting here in my shoes, coat and bag on my sholder... need to move - bye...LBM April 2013 - £29,000.00Vanquis CC's PAID - Debenhams SC PAID - A+L OD PAID - Asda CC £783.75Barclaycard CC £1400.78 - BoS CC PAID - Freemans Cat PAIDF/D Loan & CC £1458.96 - Santander Loan PAID - Mum Loan PAIDRBS OD PAID - F/D OD £1026.52Weekly Grocery Challenge - £95.00 budget / spend £-0 -
Thanks Pigpen... maybe you'd better start handing out a few more doggy biccies for achievements to encourage activity
... that might make us spend more time flying and less time thinking about it
... the other thing some people might find useful is to use the buddy lists. If I want to know if someone is online so I can PM them, I add them to my buddy list - if you're at home all day and need to ask for specific advice, this might help... Also if replying to a specific person, highlight their name and they'll be able to find the answer
The good news is - I have braved the study and found my work notebook, :j :j :j so flying is coming to an abrupt halt while I do the stuff that is outstanding for today and get myself back to the gym for 20 minutes Cardio & my yoga class!0 -
I've put tomorrows list up now.. I have to bug off to college in 20 minutes so thought you'd prefer it now than at 10pm.. and need to have a speedy snooze first! .. or I could eat..LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0
