  • Then it will be my mission to check you are noticed and doing your lists - well, you are noticed if you don't post, but I get what you mean about the lists...

But all your posts are relevant - you offer great help and advice to people and also, you have been there - your table saga and how you came through it is just a small part of it. I know the thread is big - the same thing has just happened on the GC - and I know when I'm working I will never catch up, but this thread is for people with more than housework to sort out - when we have clutter in our lives, we have clutter in our minds and I know a lot of people have benefited from your wise words and helpful demeanour.

My personal opinion is with you and others not posting it will make this particular thread less than what it is now - I'm not talking general chat, like the thanks challenge and what programmes we're watching, etc (not that they are not worthwhile subjects!) but the life [strike]problems[/strike] hiccups that we all face are often the reason we all get CBA syndrome and fall behind in our housework in the first place.

If I can explain - it is the 'family' of people on here that has got my house clean and has got me believing that I can do stuff - no small feat I can tell you. My friends are far and wide, but here you are all in the same room as me with a coffee and a hug, and you are a bit part of that Toots - DO NOT DISAPPEAR PLEASE - we all need you!

OK, rant over... sorry about that, just wanted to explain my feelings on the matter...:o

I so agree,Flower, I know I am new, but it was these things that made me want to join, because the comaraderie might just finally get me motivated to crack a lifelong problem! It would be so sad, if there was absolutely no chit chat. I would miss Tooti frooti's imput so much!!
I do get pigpen's point as well, because I have noticed that some people feel they can't keep up with the thread and have stopped coming, which is not good either.
I think support with emotional stuff is special here, and it would be a real shame to loose it, but we could reduce some of the other stuff, although I love it all!!

I'm also going to go through my 'ufos' and finish them off (Craftyscholar will understand what I'm on about I'm sure :D)
Personally I prefer to call them 'WIPs' (works in progress) :rotfl:

Off to put yesterday's washing away (I'm getting better at drying overnight rather than using the TD)

I'm glad there's less chitchat but I still can't keep up with the thread! I hope it doesn't go all the way to NO chit chat though. I need this thread to remind me that there are real women with real lives who manage to keep their houses clean. If you lot can do it then so can I!!!

I'm off to join in that HHC that started 15 min ago. I'l make sure I finish 15 min late too.

I'm not on facebook and don't intend to go on it either. DH was trying to set it up yesterday and it all looked far too complicated :D
Well I managed to register on it so it can't be that complicated (I don't do technology)
  • Managed finaly to get home at 2pm to empty dw and put slow cooker on, at this rate we won't be eating until bedtime!!

Does de-cluttering your desk at work count??!! As mines been awful and have managed to shift over half of it. Even managed to negoitate a sale on a property this morning (estate agent), mindst you it took the WHOLE morning, but a sale of any kind is fab at the moment.

I've now done my list for today but feel that good about the sale that I may go home and do something else just to get a head start on tomorrow.

How do I add an Xmas tree so pigpen knows I'm a newbie?!! You can tell how rubbish I am, only lurk most of the time and only started posting here on Saturday.

  • Being an oldie on here I see both sides. Some of the chat has got a bit OTT recently and I can see that is off putting to newbies. I just skim over it myself unless I feel like sitting down with a cuppa for a catchup. However, if we lost the personal side of the thread, the sharing of snippets of our lives then the thread would loose heart and soul and that would mean lots of flyladies would fly away. We've been here before (several times) and it will sort itself out.

Toots - you promised me you'd do the ebay challenge this week which is definitely part of flylady - decluttering and moneysaving - making cash so don't you dare disappear on me!

Well put Dusty, I can certainly see there's too much chat and like you, skim read or sometimes I just have to bypass - I am usually able to catch up on what's going on with later posts anyway...;) I do agree it should slow down a bit - seems we are doing a good job at the moment...

Anyway, since my last list, I have done...:o nothing - didn't go out as I sat back as I got ready and promptly fell asleep! just sooooo tired it was unreal.

So am about to put dinner on (chicken chasseur) and then off to do some shopping urgently, then really must do that front room floor as for some strange reason there is a fishy smell in there??? we have checked everywhere, down chairs, cushions, plants, you name it, but still there, so the only thing I can think of is something has been spilt on the floor and not cleared up... now I KNOW my family would NEVER do that, but it could have happened by mistake...  and as it is a laminate it could have soaked into the under floor, so I will bleach it to see how we go - HAS ANYONE ANY OTHER IDEAS?

    Back soon, take care x

Pollybear - i'm not on facebook or yahoo either so we'll keep each other company over here.

Nearly forgot - my MACAW of the day - everytime I post i will pass on a tip to help people declutter/tidy thus making all my posts relelvant. Anyone else have any tips they can share???

Tip of this post - most of you are sitting at your computer desk reading this...pick up five things from the desk that shouldn't be there and rehome them (if you're on your laptop then you don't get away from it....pick up five things from nearby and rehome!!!).

I'm off to rehome five things xx

Mmmm! I've just decluttered a cup of tea, my shoes from the floor (are now on my feet) my coat off the chair (now on my back) my bag from the bed (now on my shoulder) and myself to the shops..... :rotfl::rotfl:
