It's old fashioned cleaning fluid stuff. I bought some in Morrisons about 2 years ago (and still have 3/4 a bottle left as I couldn't get on with it
). It's supposed to be super-duper with bells on cleaning. It's bright yellow and has a cartoon drop on the front :rotfl:
Pic here
Thank you! (I don't remember the last I time I bought any cleaning stuff)
I may try it - am a little nervous of discovering that the inside of my oven is not meant to be a brown textured finish!!!!
Thanks for the xmas trees indigo star!0 -

Would I dissolve the SC in piping hot water (quite a strength I should imagine) and scrub with that?
I just wiped it on after I'd cooked, and I also use one of those aluminium scourers, with a cloth to wipe away the gunk that comes off. And I wear gloves. Thick ones
I think it's TAG who cleans her oven every time she uses it to avoid this pain... much more sensible.
I'm trying to make sure that I cook things covered where possible to keep the dirt to a minimum... one day I'll have a self cleaning oven... or an aga...0 -
Another breadmaker question...I've got a Morphy Richards (which I haven't used for ages). The instructions say to use 7/8 cup of flour - I've lost the bl00dy cup. Anybody know what the equivalent weights are, please?
One cup should be about 167g - so 7/8 would be about 145g I reckon. We have a MR Fastbake and the first thing MrEH did when we got it was to weigh the 3 cups of flour that our usual recipe calls for!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

I followed last week's tasks to see if I could do it - before sort of declaring myself publicly, as it were. The difference it's made just dipping a toe in the water is amazing and I can see that if it's kept up it will gradually get easier and easier too. I don't iron at all, so no expecting me to join you when that's on the list. My clothes are carefully chosen not to need ironing and MrEH does his shirts himself - he says it's safer that way! :rotfl: We're in a two bed flat but with both of us working long days finding time to do it without ruining my whole weekend is tricky. My particular areas to attack this week are the coffee table in the front room, a large pile of magazines also in the front room, and the top of the dressing table, my bedside table and chest of drawers in the bedroom. The hob is also a disgrace - Pigpen could I beg for hob cleaning to be put on the list for kitchen day please to give me the incentive to do it?!
WELCOME TO THE THREAD ESSEXHEBRIDEAN!

Thank you. Will give it a go on Tuesday (threw out kitchen gloves and have more coming on Sainsburys order, hence then delay - honest
:rotfl:)

:eek: That's either a) very clever or b) mental. I'll let you know which I decide it is after I've [strike]blow-torched[/strike] cleaned mine.I'm trying to make sure that I cook things covered where possible to keep the dirt to a minimum... one day I'll have a self cleaning oven... or an aga...
Now that IS smart (and very logical). I must remember that one
I just dampened a clean sponge and wiped a corner of my stardrops-ed oven door and it's now clear with lots of brown flecky textured spots"I married beneath me, all women do." - Nancy Astor 1879-1964

All the supermarkets sell them - I buy mine in Sainsburys and I think they are 52p.indigostar wrote: »also, any idea on which shops sell stardrops currently?
Apparently wilkinsons sell it, but I think I saw some in Tescos a while ago."I married beneath me, all women do." - Nancy Astor 1879-1964

I just chipped away at the oven with the help of a part disolved sterodent tablet....only thing I had to hand (keep them for my teacups at work - still got my own teeth
)
Its not meant to be brown.
I think I've found another extra challenge for the week. Gulp. Best put the local decontamination unit on standby!!!!!0
