Just waiting for DW to finish - I've put a bottle of vinegar through the wash spinners and unclogged some paper/tissue stuff that was wrapped in one. I noticed that the tablet from yesterday's rubbish wash was still in the dispenser even though the door had openned. I've made sure the rinse aid and salt are full too. Does anyone use finish powerball things? I use ecover but they are half price at Sainsbury - do they work? Greenbee do you have a dishwasher and if so what do you use?

Ecover tabs & rinse aid for washing. Clean the filters pretty much every wash. Soda crystals in the bottom of the machine whenever Pigpen tells me to clean the DW! Also take all the arms off every so often & clean them out - but my machine is only a few months old, so its all pretty much OK.

Started letting down the kitchen curtains (which were an inch short of the windowsill!) while watching a DVD... haven't finished yet, and am now torn between going to bed (it's not me going to church tomorrow Toots, it's my brother and his fiancee - they have to if they want to be voted on to the electoral role of the church they're getting married in - I'm not going as there's no BCP service this week!) and staying up to finish hemming the lining (very badly) on the last one.

I know I'm going to have to get new kitchen curtains, but its nights like to night when you want to have something at the window to shut out the weather!

Toots - glad you're being sensible.

Dusty - glad you're feeling better

Nicki - I think it's time to edit your list and work out what you WILL do tomorrow. And next week, prioritise the stuff you didn't have time for this week.

  • Hi All

I am almost on the east coast too ..... we have just had a shower that sounded like hail against the house but strangely could hear it hitting both sides of the house - most odd!

It also came down the chimney and made the fire hiss.... a wild night out there but not as bad as way up north it seems.

Will post list in the morning so off to bed now if can get unruley teenagers off blasted Xbox.

Curtains finished and re-hung. Miraculously they appear to be the same length :j They could do with an iron, as there are creases where all the previous hems have been (these curtains are older than me - they were made by my grandmother for my parents' first house!), but to be honest, I think they can stay like that until I work out what I'm doing long term.

Off to find the kettle, make hot water bottles and go to bed.

Hope everyone sleeps well and is safely home and out of the storm.

Thanks for nagging anyway Greenbee, I am listening, honest....

Dusty I've used the balls ones, work well. Have you tried dismantling the pump area and cleaning it out? Did that on ours when it was blocked up and it's been loads better since.
greenbee areas I've worked include entertainments, it's done VERY regularly. There were a lot of wedding planners who did 'fake cakes' there was only one tier ever cut into, rest was fake and there was loads of others pre made/sliced/wrapped to be taken away.
Rach, I've been the same this week with shopping. I love to go to several shops, I can never get everything in one shop. I however as greenbee mentioned use a milkman (slightly more for milk and rarely buy other stuff as it's expensive) because at least I don't need to just pop to the shop for milk. I try to get my basics done via delivery from the supermarket, that might be handy if you can every couple of weeks or something?

I forgot to mention (where has JillD gone?) I weighed myself, lost 3lb this week, yay!

Speaking of DW stuff, I haven't bought any for over a year but I really thought I had some left, will have to look in the understairs cupboard tomorrow see if there is some in there. Haven't managed to do much tonight, DS1s JUST gone to sleep, he's been terrible tonight. Just going to do a couple of bits for DP (he's away from in morning and don't want him waking children!) then I'm off to bed.

    Goodnight all x
One day I might be more organised...........

    Morning All

I haven't really been about much for the last few days so I hope I haven't missed anything - please fill me in if I have!

The twins stayed over last night so I daresay the house will look like a bombsite by the time they've gone home at lunchtime. Did some shopping yesterday - went to Superdrug and they had loads of stuff for 10p so I got loads of little rubbers, bobbles, fans, etc for my prize box - should keep the girls going for the next 12 months:money:. I also went to Mr Ts unfortunately I let DH do the food shopping while I did the other sections so he bought loads of carp as usual. I got some gluesticks and paintbrushes though for the kids to take to school - their school has partnered up with a school in SA which has very limited resources so 2 of the teachers are going over there in Feb half-term and taking a load of stationery with them - each class has been asked to bring different things in - DD is scissors and notepads, DS is paintbrushes and gluesticks - although I'll probably have a sort out of my stationery bits and send in anything else that I don't need.

Works a bit manic at the moment - if anyone has any idea how to explain/teach my year 6s to answer inference questions on their reading comprehensions, please pm me because I'm fighting a losing battle - I've already asked valli who's seeing what she can sort out for me:A.

I'm going to do a HHI now while you're all in bed - except Flower who will be all lovey-dovey with her DH before he goes to work!

Hope everyone survived the bad weather last night - make sure you stay in if the weather's still bad where you are.

Valli - so is this an engagement ring we're talking?

    Have a good day all

    Hugs
