The fact is that if she has had to claim benifits, for whatever reason, a personnel arrangement will mean nothing.
If you don't name the father they can deduct the money from your benifit, so i would imagine that this is what has happenend, she has put in a claim and they have asked her to name the father, so they can claw the money back from him.
  • Yes Bonnie, thats what we first thought to, but now we find out that the csa have been speaking to the ex and she has been making up all sorts of lies about how all she ever wanted was £40 a week from him, how they were engaged, how he did a runner when she was pregnant!!!! LOAD OF LIES!!! But of course the csa will llisten to her lies, never even bother to try and contact my partner and take on this huge assumption that it is his child!!!The CSA case worker is now treating my partner like crap and even in a phone call yesterday was heard putting her hand over the receiver of the telephone and saying to a colleague "I wish he would F^&*ing shut up"....Lovely service...

The circumstances don't change the fact he has to pay if it is his child. It doesn't matter also if she only wanted £40, if she is on benefits a claim for the full amount he is due will be made.

I hope you got her name and are making a formal complaint via your MP - how DARE she make such comments, it is totally unprofessional to do such a thing.

If there is a doubt of the paternity, he really ought to confirm it by getting a DNA test done although it costs money and only he knows the probability of the child being his.
  • Hi Kelloggs, We have managed to track down our local MP and are going to put the full thing in writing to him tomorrow. Had a bit of potential success with the Debt Collection agency, they finally listened and agreed that he had a case, they are referring it to a senior manager, who will call tomorrow, to see if it can be put on hold for 3 months whilst an investigation takes place. Fingers Crossed.
  • how long have you lived together ? they need to do dna test to see if he is the father is he on birth cer
  • We have only lived together for 3 months. He was with his ex for a short time, but is 95% sure that it is his child. He is not sure if he is on the birth certificate or not. Is there a way to find out? Do you have to be present as a father to be on the birth certificate, or can any woman put any name down!! thanks

The father would have to be present, but whether he is on there or not won't make any difference, so I wouldn't follow that route.
Well life is harsh, hug me don't reject me.

  • hmm I am not having a go, but is it fair to say that women in general use the CSA to get back at there x boy friends or husbands. I my self this year have dealing with the CSA, what a waste of time effort these incompetent people are. they lied about my name being on a birth cirtificate to give them grounds to take money from my JSA. after contacting the birth certificate office they said my name was not on any birth certificate I sent the evidence to the CSA head office and they had no choice but to refund me all moneys and know they want me to take a DNA test. after all I have never seen the child and the child is 11 years old I was not told of I had a child and I have been in the same home for over 20 years now that's taking the Mickey.

with all due respect men are the victims when it comes to CSA no wonder you have dads who don't pay they take to much money and don't take anything in to consideration. and how the farther is living and weather he can pay his bills or even buy food so I have no tear of sadness for those women who use the CSA to get back at there x partners even if thy say they don't use the CSA to do that.

    no offence.
